    BolloxInBruges:

Thanks for weighing in MR, always nice to see your presence in the forums.  Can't wait to play on Congressional and R.S.G., the HD courses you create are miles ahead of the competition.  I will retract my statement from the other thread about getting rid of the TruGolf courses.  I'm personally not interested in them, but if it is making WGT $ then by all means!

btw, could you give us some teaser photos/videos of RSG on your blog posts like you did for st andrews?  Enjoyed those last year.

I also think you should consider how your programmers feel about these TruGold courses.   They've spent all these years working their butts off to produce a high quality product and you go and add TruGolf on them.     I'd be pissed.     Of course none of them will say anything, I'm sure they need their jobs.    It's like a slap on the face, thanks for all your hard work, but here, I think these cartoon courses are better.

Then you add insult to injury by blatantly charging a ridiculously high green fee to boot!

This cannot work and you know it!

I don't know why people are getting so agitated about this development. As long as WGT is still going to produce photographed courses then that's fine. The TruGolf just gives the site more options and a wider choice.

    MisterWGT:

    Greetings everyone!

Don’t worry, we haven’t lost our minds. We’re definitely focused on delivering you the best possible virtual golf experience!

We’re trying to work with sponsors that tie to the game, like Callaway, Cleveland, PING and TaylorMade, and brands that want to run virtual tournaments with great prizes, like Dove, Golf Digest, Ketel One, USGA and R&A. Your support of those sponsors is appreciated as it makes it possible for us to grow the business and invest in the game.

Hopefully, our long-time players have seen that we really do listen closely and make changes based on feedback, so we’ll continue doing that, and I sincerely hope you continue to enjoy the game. Please invite me to play a game (MisterWGT) next time we’re both online together.

    Cheers!

    - Chad

It's a pleasure to finally hear from you Mr Nelson :)

    I hope WGT hasn't lost there minds....lol

The new course (Cabo) is alright, but the graphics (except for the Avatar) is something I used to play back in the 80's. Back then the graphics was fantastic, but now it's not very good, considering the excellent HD Quality course's that we are all used to.

I won't be paying the 100cr to play the course, I'd rather use those credits for Ready-Go's.

You mentioned working with the sponsors... After getting the R11 Driver, I am itching to get one in real life, but it cost $450 Aus down here and might wait a bit to get one (maybe not too long...lol) ...so that type of advertising new products is a plus for sponsors and they should be coming to you.

I've said this before quite a few times...This is the best golf game and I still enjoy playing it(most of the time...lol).

Keep up the good work and hopefully we will get the new HD course's soon.

    Cheers

      Roger

Thanks for the response Mr Chad.

Heres my situation. I found this game by mistake, while browsing the net. I have to say its one helluva game, and im hooked. Thing is, im unemployed, and any funds i have spent here has come from a small win in a lotto game, or something similar. Every last spare coin i can muster up goes into this game. By all meens, charge a fee for these new Tru-golf courses, but at least make it a once off payment. I dont think i could manage paying for balls and single play games for any length of time. Even if you put a monthly charge for these new courses, i will still struggle. Please consider there are many more like me out there, who love this game, but cant afford this system as it stands. Cheers.

I have have read again a good bit of the comments on this thread.  And although I am not happy at all with the green fees (I have not played CDS one time)  I understand that it is in your best interest to generate revenue.

So yes, please continue to offer a variety of free play courses.  In the event you have one launched that a green fee is required, please keep it to around say 15 dredits for 9 and 25 for 18.  And unlimited play for 24 hours.  As it often happens, the game freezes up, wgt errors, etc and I have to close the game.  I would be a bit pissed if I payed to play then got an error and lost my credit investment.

    Please take these into consideration.

    Chad,

    Thanks for stopping by.

The loyal players love the quality and class of the WGT flagship product. Ultimately the presence of "seconds" on the site may erode the image of the brand, but affect us only indirectly, so long as the "seconds" are not mingled in with the flagship product.

In other words, if some players want to pay to play those other courses, it should not hurt the purists, but we (I anyway) truly hope that the "seconds" do not infiltrate the main tournaments and so on, or in general crowd out the flagship product.

Anxiously awaiting Congressional and - great to hear the confirmation - Royal St George's.

Keep this a class act and I see you guys winning some nice new tie-ins. Polo RL avatars, that sort of thing.

Thanks for your timely response. While I have not been here since the beginning, I have been here long enough not only with my current account but my first one when I started (it's deleted :-D) to have seen a lot of the changes over the past few years. I would have to say the bottom line is really very simple. Why should I pay for a lesser quality course just to have a different variety. Ask yourself that question and I believe you as most other would say no.  While I applaud your innovative thinking on this there were other things you could have done to settle the masses down, new pin placements would have  changed a lot of the game play and staleness of the stroke play courses.

Please re-focus more of your efforts along areas like this and I think you would appease most of the masses on here.

    Thanks

    Sarge

    .

    Well sir,in reading the 4 pages of comments, and based on the feedback therein, here's what WGT can do ;

#1. Meter repair..yes it DOES simulate the goofy shots we make it the real world, but it's something that can and should be fixed.

#2.Pin Location. We wouldn't be grumbling about new courses if the old ones were a new challenge every coupla days.

#3.Keep WGT WGT. If trugolf is an option you'd like to feed us,and since their graphics are substandard, either work on the quality, or as many have suggested, kick the price down OR go with the fee = 24 hour play. A guy has to spend a lot of $$ just to get the lay of the land let alone conquer it.

#4.Throw us a bone and RESPOND to the major feedback in this thread and let us know that you've listened.

and on a lighter note, couldja make #2 at St. A's a par five???  : )

What i find hilarious is....if i was to buy a driver,3 wood, fairway wood, a set of irons, wedges, a putter and few sleeves of callaways then play 2x 9 holers on cabo........this would cost more than what it costs for me if i was to hire real clubs and go round a real 18 hole course designed by James Braid here in Edinburgh.

All I'm saying is that the pricing seems a little excessive...especially the Callaways which always get metered....go into weeds, water or OOB and lost.

I can't think of any other game where it costs just as much or more than the real life equivalent.

    just sayin'
