Nope, it proves I neither need nor want to read trough a ton of fluff, when I want to reply to something specific. It saves people from getting confused about wtf I or anyone else meant or was replying to.

Edit: P.S.: Just remembered the thread I mentioned in the 1st paragraph. Someone wrote a goodbye post and you kindly explained, he has no reason to expect any pity (which he never wanted anyway), cause he's a slacker (not your exact words) because he didn't put all his time and energy into learning the game and earning free credits. You seem to have different standards when it comes to James though.
