To the best of my knowledge, and my knowledge comes from highly recognized individuals in this game, it's ALWAYS been 500 RRs in order to go from Legend to Tour Legend.

I don't think that's always been the case. I thought I read a thread a while back that it was once a lower number. But my memory could be faulty.*

I have to admit that 200 RRs does seem rather easy in comparison. But think what it would be like if that other person were correct and that we needed another 500 RRs and 59.00 at Tour Legend to make it to Champion tier? To me, that would seem overwhelming.

    *Edit:

After I posted this, I found the thread where someone claimed the number of ranked rounds was lower. He was incorrect and was told so in that thread. I had forgotten that part. I told you... my memory. Of all the things I've lost, it's my mind I miss the most.

Caveat: The last posts mix up "at TL stage" with "to reach TL stage".

These things become complicated and may twist our minds due to special rules for the time of the new tiers' implementation for those who were in the formerly highest tier then.

Again, I cross out numbers which aren't valid currently.

Before TL tier, Legends would saturate at 400 rounds. To reach the new TL tier, each saturated L had to play 100 extra rounds.

Now, L saturation is at a total of 500 L rounds, 60.000 average to advance to TL

Before C tier, Tour Legends had 500 rounds to saturate. With the advent of C tier, their averages would jump up because they were robbed of their 300 best rounds. Then, they had to play 200 additional rounds to saturate. This is the source of the phrase which I have been objecting to.

Now, TL saturation is at a total of 200 TL rounds, 59.00 average to advance to C.

Saturation for Champions is at 200 C rounds, as stated by the mod.

Addendum: There's no conditions to become a TC because this is only by WGT's appointment. They've only awarded this in two special cases, as stated above. Otherwise, it's blocked, another carrot(?) They also said that there are no plans to change this.

True, but before the TL tier was introduced, the saturation for legends was 400 rounds. Like alosso wrote, when the TL tier was introduced, everyone and their uncle, whos avg already saturated at 400, had to play additional 100 rounds, before it saturated again.

I always found it funny that reaching TL tier is much harder than reaching Champ tier. It should've been the other way around, 200 RR to saturate at L and 500 RR to saturate at C. much less working space for bagging (or m/a) legends that way. Although, on second thought, they would just move to TL tier and do the same there.

I know I asked about nos of RR's needed to saturate at Champion tier and I got that answer way back on page 1 of this thread !!

But this seems to have wandered off to how many RR's to saturate at TL. Well I turned after Champion tier was introduced and I needed 200 RR to saturate, not as some have said 400 and I went to Champion at 60.00

Impossible, the required avg for Champ is 59.00 or lower ;-)

Yesterday you said you played 100 RR how many do you need to get to C,miraculously today you reached C.You must have played a marathon of games assuming they were 9 hole rounds and all rounds would have to be under 30.I don't think you could get a 100 rounds in 24 hrs. Please clarify.

I have 227 ranked rounds as a TL

    *sighs*

Subtract all the Par3 (Bandon) and Par5 games that you had. Plus CC Custom Course rounds.

    *harumph*

It's my understanding that P3's and P5's do not count toward average and therefore are not considered ranked rounds. Same goes for CC Custom Course rounds. Further, the only P3 rounds I've played were in the latest clash and came after my post in here;  I've played P5's but nowhere close to 27 rounds. I've played exactly one round on a Custom Course from the new course builder feature, but that was before I made TL.

Well that's what it was !! Call me what you want, that is what I saw come up in black and white.

Of course I will bow to your undoubted superior knowledge and that you must have seen my profile at that moment, and stand corrected.

Is it possible that you tiered up and that your first round at Champion tier was a 30 or a 60 and that's when you noticed the average?
