The loss of Oakmont kinda reminds me of the sudden death of a long time customer / fellow business owner a few years ago. He was an annoying old bazzturd that would try his best to get on your nerves and under your skin every chance he got. It was more of a game between us to see who could pizz off the other one first.  We would swap lies and insults...say cya and carry on with the day. Next visit to my business......Repeat above. Lol.

I really miss those days of mental torture and harmless bickering between us now that he has passed on. Shooting a decent round on Oaky was similar to getting the last word in or one up on him.:)

    RIP......both.

Wow, we lost one of the best courses that this site had, or ever will have....

I can think of 5 courses that I wouldn't miss at all...

Oak was definitely one of the toughest to learn, and to play, I wouldn't trade 72 holes of Erin Hills for 18 at the mighty Oak!

    Great job Topgolf, I'm sure glad you bought this place {{{{{shaking head}}}}}

    WGTicon:

    Hi,

Our agreement with the course has ended, so it’s no longer playable on WGT.

Gee, could you care any less about losing this historiic course or how your customers would feel about it?

    Screw you too.

My first dabble with WGT was at the time of VUSO qualifying at Oakmont.  At that time,  my thoughts were "Wow what a tough course...".    Over the years, I've respected Oakmont and she has come to me,  giving me some good rounds there.

    However,   now she is gone.

i respectfully ask the members of the WGT community to post replays of your best Oakmont shots here, as a reminder of what a great course she was.......

On the 16th mate.........my 1st ACE and its on my profile page.

    Nice memory

Freakin bar stewards have got my back up now.

This one was a bit of fun...

Oakmont #6... HIO 144 yd 9-iron, 3/4 backspin US Open qualifier

I like this one because it was lucky HIO #13 at hole #13...

Oakmont #13... 13th HIO, 193 yd 5-iron, almost full backspin
