    Hoolahoof:
This is a serious thread devoted to suggestions to battle hacking in wgt.

You have to prove it's  happening first. Like I said in your other attempt,  show me. You can't prove a single thing. That's a direct challenge, too.

Why would I have to prove people are cheating to suggest ways wgt could make it harder to cheat? Where's the logic there Jim?

Again, this is a thread devoted to SUGGESTIONS about how to make this game safer and more cheat proof, and if that makes you mad I'm sorry.

    It would substantiate your claims.

It doesn't make me mad, I just have no patience with people that hurl the cheat word around, especially brand new players, and then can't offer up anything substantial to back up their claims, something you go out of your way to avoid doing.

I guess its best not to advertise the cheaters and programs/video links from youtube.

Ok you win Jim, you are right and I am wrong. Nothing more to see here.

Again, this is a thread devoted to suggestions about making this game more cheat proof, safe, and fun for all. If that upsets you in any way, I am sorry. I am not here to piss people off, I think this thread is a good thing and although some people obviously get offended, there is no logical reason to not try to make this game better from a security standpoint.

And I wouldn't go as far as linking cheats in this forum. Please don't do that. There is nothing that needs proven when it comes to suggesting ways to improve the security of this BETA game.

It's not about being right or wrong, it's about proof the game is being hacked by the ones yelling the c word. IMO, I think your third idea is already in place. Scores are supposedly verified where tournaments are involved and I always thought this is where the funny business sticks out. What do I know...........

My third idea is somewhat in place, but to really nail down and fix the meter problems for some, they need to know the system information of the bug writer. Without this information identifying troubles would be most difficult. I can assure you that when video games are tested and bugs are written, the system information is always included, which is why I suggested some type of system snapshot. Maybe there are certain video cards or settings that cause more lag than others? Maybe there are common conflicts with certain motherboards. Without specific information you are just guessing, and inhibiting your ability to make positive changes for each new patch in my opinion.

And again, if you're upset, I'm sorry. Suggesting ways to improve the security of a beta stage game should not upset anyone.

For me this is not a proof of anything. I do not see anything special there except you see some kind of thirdparty program but we don't know what this programs do actually?

On the drive, there is no ding. So this is not a program to get a ding at each shot. On the second shot, you have to aim correctly by hand, so this is not a program which tells you where to aim. Finally the putt is extremely simple... So this is a program to do what?

I will just write it once because all these conspiracy/cheating theories are ridiculous. I am an average legend but I am good enough to understand that the scores posted by the best players are completely legitimate.

Just an advice to those who think otherwise: Improve your game and when you will get good enough you will finally understand that the best players doesn't need to cheat to post good results. This game is not that hard as it stands now.

For the 2nd time I'm not upset. Seeing red does not constitute anger all the time. Red flags are what to look at. Hence, seeing red. I could see where you would think that was anger or upset, but it's not.

Coming on the heels of digby's post, do you really think the meter will ever change? I doubt it will. I'm also curious about how many takes that video took to get the same meter 3 shots in a row. Better yet, I'd like to see holes 2 through 18 myself. Until that happens GL on your quest. My ignorant self thinks the safeguards are already in place. They've had 5 years to figure it out.

Fair enough. But moving the ding bar for each club would virtually guarantee that this and other programs like it would have to be re-written, wether they are working programs now or not. In my opinion a stationary ding bar is a huge reason why this game can be exploited. I would go as far to call it a security vulnerability. Could programs be easily re-written with multiple capture points for each club if wgt made the ding bar move with each club? Of course! But it would take time, more sophisticated coding, and would have to be re-distributed...essentially making it harder for the game to be exploited, which I would consider important to a company offering trips and cars as prizes.

Again, don't get upset here because I'm offering a suggestion to improve the security of the game. This is a beta game, and I'm a beta player suggesting ways to improve the game, period. If you don't like it I honestly don't know what to say. At the end of the day it's suggestions from people like me that help developers improve games, regardless if it offends people or not.
