A few things that would help in my opinion, after all this is beta right?

    1) Move the "ding" spot a little for every club. Even just a little bit. This certainly would throw a wrench in a program designed to click at a certain pixil on the screen. Eventually cheaters could set a capture point for each club and speed, but it would take time and render existing programs pretty much obsolete.

    2) Make the colors random on the ding bar. This could be a subtle change in color, one the eye could hardly detect, but would help combat programs that use color change to determine when to click.

3)Track the amount of dings all players get from the start of thier career. This can be a hidden stat that only wgt can see, but could help easily identify people using cheats. If someone plays this game with a 60% "ding rate" for a month, then all of a sudden overnight goes to 99-100%......it would be pretty easy to see who is not playing straight up. At least this would give you an idea about who to look at, rather than having no clue at all.

And lastly but most importantly, be open about the development process. I have beta tested quite a few games in my life when I was a teen working as QA for Infogrammes. And the one glaring difference I see is communication about the development process. Make an offical bug thread, with a bug form, that asks the questions your developers need. For each bug, you NEED to know the system of the bug writer. implement a system snapshot feature in the bug form so that the developers can easily get what they really need with the bug reports.

One thing I know is that people want to help, people want to be counted, people want to know that their opinion matters in a beta game, right now I do not see this.

Thank you Duff. Unfortunately, I doubt these ideas will never make it to the eyes of a developer. Judging from the response, I think many are hoping this one goes right under the rug, INCLUDING wgt staff. I'll keep fighting the good fight though, until wgt bans me, which I suspect will be soon if I keep bringing up the obvious truth about their game.

This game is realistic and fun frustration for 90% of the players, and laughable, unrealistic, program aided perfection for the other 10%.

This is so noble of you. Here a month and you've taken up the challenge. What a girl. The masses will adore you in the end and you will be showered with glory. Duffer can be your assistant in the cause. GL

YJ...ever hear "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?  Wonder why this country is going south quickly...wtf do I even bother anymore?  yes, it is rhetorical...all of it.

Ya, I heard that before, longball. Feel free to point out what's not nice in this here public forum where you can opine to your heart's content.

Whether Hoofer's suggestions are on-target or not, or obvious to the developers, I do not know as I am not an IT person. Obviously, whatever measures they do take to stop hacking they cannot comment on publicly.

The problem here is that Hoofer poisoned her cred by getting into a pissing match on another post, accusing top players of cheating and so on. Don't want to get into that again or replay that here, but it goes to show how people can blow their reputation by intemperate language.

Who wants to have Gentleman Jim against you? Life is too short.

Thank you, Z. You have a little more tact than I do when these cheating theories show up. I probably should have just considered the source and moved on but these incessant cheating accusations and theories just make me see red and it's ten times worse when it comes from  supposed new players.

    Movin' on.......

The de-bug anticheat suggestions sound good to me but in truth, i'm not really bothered much about what other people are doing. If some sad gits feel the need to install all kinds of programmes in order to win a few $'s, then good look to their sad lives. I'd just like to see a few more playing options; a putting green and a driving range, for a start.

Get upset at me because I make some suggestions to combat hacking? Priceless.

Leave this thread alone if you're here to troll. This is a serious thread devoted to suggestions to battle hacking in wgt.
