    chrisironsbones:

Look forward to seeing how other players rounds pan out

The readers better hope you're more than 9 strokes out of the top there Chris or we'll really be hearing about that first round. 62-62 is a little better than 71-62.  LOL. Very nice, strong finish.  ;-)

Conditions are a fair bit easier in round 2, 2-3 shots easier I'd say. Another shocking start from me but picked up well. Had a couple of unlucky pitches hit the hole and stay up and a 6 footer that I missed but other than that I'm happy enough with my scoring.

Good to be part of the tournament this year and looking forward to Royal St Georges all the more now.

Another horrible round of putting me for again. 67-65. Yuck.

It was fun though. Round 2 conditions are quite a bit easier for sure. I just couldn't make a putt to save my life. Overplaying the break and missing by inches. Easily could have been a 60 for someone that can putt. I think I missed one green and that was #11. Rolled past the pin long and chipped in for birdie from 8 yrds. Maybe I should have just missed the greens on purpose and chipped instead.

Id agree that the conditions were easier..... 60 -63 1st and second rounds of US open, and for now, Im on top!!! YAY!!!  I know my score will be lucky to make top 10 by the time its over, but for now, Im in the clubhouse in top 10.  Countless hours I spend practicing, and making notes on the US open.... In the end, all the preparation helped, but nervous clicking finger kept me from executing the shots I knew I should do.   No real meter or connection issues, just nervous adrenaline.

in the 2nd round of open.... DISASTER at Hole number 4!!!! I was nervous and clicked early... hit the tree, had to pitch out, then drove (2nd time into rough)   approach shot to green was 25ft short and 2 putts to finish hole... it was a disaster

Its been a long time since I've been competitive in something big ( big to me)  and this was big fun.

Thank you WGT for hosting the tourney, goodluck to those still competing. Let me wish an early CONGRATS to whomever is eventual winner!!!

    My 15 mins of fame!!!!!

    WTG Dianne,

Now if anyone has an extra box of tissues, please send them to me!

Couldn't make a birdie, nor could I save par from off the green.

    Posted a really special +5 :)

Well there goes the conspiracy theory.  66-66

Wholly mediocre but what the heck.  Couldn't figure out my 20 footers and couldn't can a putt of any distance all round long.  I musta been bitten by the devil, lol.

Still a fun tourney and I won't lose any sleep over whether I've been gipped by the ghost in the machine.

Tell you what though.  I find RSG a heckuvalot more enjoyable than Congressional and I'm playing it alot more so my expectations of doing better there are alot higher.

Just wanted to thank everyone who made the cut and who was involved in putting on this tournament.   Never expected to win ... had reasonable goals ... make the cut .. don't come in last place ... and both were reachable :).   Shot 67 - 65 ... left a lot of shots on the table.

My highlight was ... almost aced 13 the 2nd round ..... I just needed 2 more inches.

2nd round, made 15ft bird on #1 and I was psyched. Had to sink 8ft for par on 2. Hit flag on 3 and went -2. Hit pin from front bunker on 4. Thought it should've dropped. Made bird on 5.  Wind in face on 6. Couldn't go for green. Lay up and hit third to 3.5ft. Grid was barely moving right to left. Did I mention 3.5 ft.?  I hit it inside lip and firm. Putt broke 6 inches! Yes I dinged it!  I'm still in shock. Never recovered. All downhill from there. Made  bogeys at 9 and 10. WOW.   Missed three more birdie putts inside 8 ft on back side. One of those days. Congrats to everyone with low scores.
