putting was not a problem. That damn branch got me and I was 5 over by the time I got through with that hole, spent the rest of the time trying to whittle away and almost got back to even par. Yeah, my chances are blown but it's not like I had a great chance at anything other than top 25 (maybe) lol...

I'm appologising before hand for my Rant, after the excitement of qualifying, you get let down my DEVIATION, its not being a sore looser or anything, i just though i might have a good cjhance of doing well, but all my skill has gone out the window, and it became hit & hope, not skill.

All i can say is DEVIATION!!!!!

None of my clubs came true to their yardages, wind was stronger than it showed on some holes, but didn't blow as hard as shown on others, i didn't get within 6 yards to pin on any front 9 hole. Greens turned to v.fast for some puts, and championship for others.

Hole 1, 102 to pin, my 105 wedge went 92 yards with north westerly!!!

Example, hole#4, i had 17 mph wind, left right. you have no choice but to set aim at point where you hit tree, any morew left and you hit tree LOL. Any way that wind was more like 27, it blew my ball to a rough i never knew was there 70/80%!!!.

This was to cancell out my birdie i had on 3.  On 5, a 135 yard approach, 16 mph right left, my 135 9i landed exactly the spot to right where i aimed. NO WIND. Again 7 yerds from pin.

on 6, 39 from pin, 30/40 rough, my under hit 50 yard wedge went 52 yards!!!!!

on 7, 14 mph sidewind, slightly North westerly, my `175 iron, with BACKSPIN went 189 YARDS!!!!!!And that left me with 32 foot, 12 ins downslope putt, i hit my putt 14 foot, it went 15 foot????what the f'k COME ON ITS HIT & HOPE. Not skill

8 75 yards to pin, 15 mph left right, wind acts like 25 mph.land 6 yards from pin again. But the putt made me laugh...a FLAT green, ball flew LEFT as soon as it left my clubhead, DEVIATION CAUGHT IN THE ACT LOL.

Whats going on, have i become a muppet all of a sudded and forgot how to play, because this is fixed, i'm sure only a few people are able to play without deviation on EVERY shot

Sorry guys, i wont rant no more, its just fustrating after waiting so long for open, its not down to your skill the outcome, but deviation.

    YAHOOOOOOOOO...I've birdied 9, come on back 9.

10 i land 3 yard from pin, not a single moving dot on my putt, but ball goes right, WOW, comical.

10 yards from green on 11, tell me how a 13 yard pitch shot, with 17 mph headwind, hit an INCH under full power with b/spin can go 16 yards!!!

Now please don't tell me this is not messed up?

F'k this its wd time, 14 mph sidewind on 12, i aim as usuall, wind only seems to double and push my ball un naturaly left into deep deep rough, its like the holes you can birdie is fixed so you cant!!!

on 14, i'm 143 to pin, with 15 mph tailwind, my 145 iron goes 137 yards COME ON.

15 my 190 yard approach, with 14 mph right left wind, i aim right of pin, the usuall for 14 mph but my ball seamed to fly 20 mph right, straight into bunker. From bunker i was 14 yards to pin 30/40% sand, i gave over halfway power on meter, but ball went 10 yards, when all day long usually i could get close.

16...I've landed within a yard from pin..at last. A shot goes how i've aimed

17, landed on edge of fairway, 143 from pin, wind blowing at 10 o'clock, 16 mph, i use 145 iron, ball goes 133 yards.  12 YARDS SHORT & callaways.

Are my callaways acting like free balls, are my clubs all different, whats happened.?

18, 16 mph tailwind, ball goes left into deep rough as if wind is right left, A JOKE, my approach landed me in 30/40 rough 12 yards from green. I used 10 yard chip, with backspin, this went, wait for it.....17 yards!!!! And the putt for par showed a steep break, which didn't turn ball an inch.  If all WGT round were like this i don't know if we'd play much longer.

I reckon out of all my shots 25% have been o.k, the rest are DEVIATION.

Its like WGT have a certain % of rounds, no matter what you do, it will f'k up your round, and deviation is MAX and there might be 25% of rounds without any deviation, and its like a normal round where you can score 60. I hope im in the 25% bracket for next round then LOL.

I'm slightly confused here...lol. Aren't you all giving ideas to people who havn't played it yet.

Now saying that, ya still have to hit the ball in the hole I suppose, no matter how much information you have about the course.

    Good Luck Everybody

i hear ya chris - i had quite a few WTF moments in my round too including short irons, putts pulling up short on downhill lies, drives flying straight into weeds, and finally water shot from nowhere on the 18th.  glad i actually finished my round tho.

Its like your yardages your used to with your clubs have all been tampered with just for this round, i.e what your used to is 20% less or more powerfull than usuall.

I've never, ever had so much 2 putts in around.

Maybe now you'll appreciate the difference between TM conditions and Legend conditions. 6 weeks of easy turned hard in a heartbeat with no chance to pound out 100s of rounds on the new conditions.  ;-)

btw-As a spectator, what are the conditions?

But after plenty of challenge matches with same wind (except greens) its not the conditions thats difficult, its dealing with the deviation every other shot.  You have to play them to beleive them, usuall club lenghs, yardages go out the window.

I've had to enter a ready go just to get my sanity back, and to see if i had turned to a useless player since my challenge match victory previous to entering the virtual open.LOL, but no, my clubs are all right again. 2 birdies in a row so far.

Ya, was the same way last year-miss the ding and anything goes. I see Bollox rose to the occasion and is one back of Funky. I'm curious to see how you do in round 2 now that you know what to expect (like punching off the tee on #4 in a radical wind.) GL
