what is the 1.4 formula for distance?

    ex. 30/1.4=21.42ft for a 30ft putt

    Cheers,

Well considering i left about 12 putts above the hole....i guess 67 is acceptable but sure not happy with it. Putting was very tough.....needed to make some of those to get to a better number. Hit the ball well.....just left myself all the wrong putts......oh well what can you do.

I think its a big laugh that some of the so called BIG BOYS on here have all ready W/D from the tourney!!!

I bet if you ask some of the guys that probably played #'s of rounds and shot a 60 if they would like to have there spots I am sure they would gladly take it!!!

If you take the time to qualify in my opinion you should finish the round!! You are just simply taking a spot from some one who would appreciate it more!!

I am not that great of a player I really don't care if I shoot a 90 right here im gonna show my appreciation and go the whole distance!!

    Cheers! and Good Golfing!!!

Update I shot an Even par round could of been better I think the greens are doable if I had another shot I would of been a little aggressive with the putts instead of timid took bout 6 holes to get a feel came up short on several in the early going!!

How can you tell that?  I looked through the 3 pages on the leader board, it shows no WD's.

A couple of them posted about it the first day. You'll see them all at the end of the tournament.

I must compliment you, MB, for the tenacity in finishing your round. I was in the same boat last year at Oakmont on the first day. Totally underestimated the conditions and it was over by the 4th hole for me. No way Oakmont was giving back 6 strokes the way it was set up but I'm in William's camp. Unfortunately, all finishing got me was dead last both days but then where was I going anyway?

LOL-the hat's cool and the bag tag with your name on it is even cooler. ;-)

Thanks Jim, I was so close to pulling the plug, especially since the night before I shot a 58 to get in, so obviously I was a bit pizzed.

Then I realized that what the heck, I didn't have any real hopes of winning the darn thing, and since I had made the long trip there (front room to kitchen) may as well stick it out..lol.

it's like they made the clubs less accurate to raise scoring....my clubs were so off it was comical..... perfectly hit drives aimed 20 yards left....shot off the tee dead right....  1 putt was 45 feet 2 feet up hill...... with a 60 foot putter the putt went 71 feet....  another was 8 feet 2in down...i hit it about 4 feet and it went 9 feet by......   idk what they did .... but it was the fakest round i've ever played on this game...

You hit 60 for a 45 feet putt ..2 foot uphill on Championship greens?,That might even go past on Standard greens
