But here's the thing: isn't that player disadvantaged by tiering up? The person would be playing slightly more difficult conditions and have less experience than those at that tier.

And wouldn't those at the Legend tier want to get rid of some of their competition? I'm not sure I see the issue here, other than it appears to break from what we thought it took to tier up from Legend to TL.
Exactly.  We want restarts to be promoted as fast as humanly possible so they can't take advantage of lower level players.  We're trying to promote everyone to alert WGT about suspected restarts and let them act accordingly.

Funny that guy didn't play the last round of OLY, think he was told or scared someone was watching closely. Hans and Franz did pretty good in the champ division also. Someone needs a broom.

Fair enough, just pretend my comment from 2/26 was never made. If you must take it well beyond the point I was trying to make. I was simply comparing a real round of golf to a computer game of golf. They are not in any way the same game. I never intended to upset any one at all. When playing an enjoyable round of real golf you do not need to google definitions of gamers versus non-gamers. Please forgive me and carry on.

I agree X 10, never seen or believed that I would see so much nonsense.  Many, many years ago, in my English classes, I was taught that the suffix "er" meant , someone who does something.  Therefore, one who eats, is an eater, or one who works, is a worker.  If you want to become technical, a worker might be specific to labor, but he would still be a laborer!  That being equal, a person who plays a game of golf, is both, a golfer, and a gamer. How hard is it?

Websters dictionary says: gamer; a player who is game espically an athlete who relishes competitions ,  it also talks about video games, but this was First. What would you call someone would plays all games?

If this was addressed to me my response is below.  If not, well then I'm rather long winded for no apparent reason.

That's because no one was upset.  No names or insults were thrown in any direction (literally, zero).  It was simply a representation on my outlook in regards to the terms involved.  The surveys simply provided a larger data base for the who, what, why's,etc.

Again, no negative tone from me now, nor was any applied in the past.  Highlighted content did nothing more than draw more attention to a simple truth.   In forums (where body language and tone cannot be expressed) when I feel someone is taking things out of context I quite frequently simply ignore their response.

This isn't to be dismissive or rude, it's the exact opposite.  Once someone latches hold of an idea it's not uncommon for any response to be met with equal or greater misunderstanding than the 1st.  I don't see the need to keep responding when it's more often than not (imo) going to aggravate the situation and initiate a perpetual merry-go-round of he said she said.

Now if I think someone is being a bully or taking advantage of other people in the forum I will definitely speak out (no reference to you here; it's about a certain Aussie).  But your post have never been anything of the sort.  So to reiterate, there was no malice or anger coming from me in regards to anything you said (and there's still not).

Misunderstandings are bound to happen.  They usually smooth out over time.

I respect any and all comments made on these forums. I do my best to stay in line and not violate the rules. Sometimes I may make little to no sense, I chalk that up to getting old and I'll have to live with it. I'm much easier to ignore than to listen to. I never take it to heart.

I really appreciated and agree with all of what you shared, but didn't want to quote your entire passage to avoid more congestion and it was already available in your post.

I have genuinely valued your contributions as well and know that at times you have also helped me keep things in perspective when I have started to feel "antagonized" by some.  I too have opted to step away or simply begin to ignore the post.

    Again, thank you for sharing.
