Very disappointed in Merion...

  I hadn't played this course in quite some time, but had always regarded it as a difficult but honest one. 

  I just had a go at a couple of rounds there, and was disappointed at seeing that several of the holes have been made more "challenging" by simply suspending the physics of ball distance which applies at other courses and even holes on this course.  Very cheesy move, in my opinion.

  I've been a member since 2011.  I've played a couple of rounds on this game, and I like to think I know a skunk when I see one.  This course has gone the way of Kiawah back nine.  All smoke and mirrors.

  I haven't seen any changes in the way that Merion plays. It plays the same way it also has since I've been a member. 
  
  Maybe it's simply the case that you haven't played it so long you simply forgot how the course plays. No doubt that the greens, in spots, can be difficult. But I suspect that it's no different than it's always been.

  What i found at Merion (a course i like a lot), is a very bad render/scaned of the fairways borders, happens in others courses too, but in certain zones of Merion you can easily drop a bout 2 or 3 feet inside the fairways, but the game read as a rough, & having in count Merion not have ''first'' cut, this should be watched & retouched

  ofcourse this never go to happens, but...its a shame & quite of mistake

  Absolutely not.

   

  The worst thing in Merion is the greens. Not used to be like this at all. Far too many whatever dots...

  I did qualify my statement by saying “since I’ve been a member.” Maybe it hasn’t always been the way it is, but it has been for me. YMMV

  Ok. For me, course has been changed radically about a year or so.

  Wow, I don't see any of that at all and I like that course.. I do see changes in greens but that's a normal occurrence. The course has always been a tough track.

  Jim, i was not talking about the speed in greens that changes from time to time. The number of whatever dots in Merion is increased so much in the last year. Used to like Merion and playing it...a lot too. Now, is almost unplayble for me.
