in a tournament like the Open at St Georges, when the f**king cut line is at 58?? And this site expects me to spend my money on better equipment and entry fees when I don't have a hope in hell of qualifying for any tournaments or winning anything????
Yeah right....everything about this game is realistic...... except the scores on the leaderboard!
I remember back when I started this game, and looked at the leaderboards. I was like, you have to be kidding me. Then I played more and more and slowly lowered my scores. Eventually I was shooting in the 20s almost every rd as a Master (Prior to the creation of Legend Status). When Legend came, I got grandfathered in, and struggled big time, new distances, new green speed. So I did what most top players to, and that is Practice, and take notes. Learn what works and what doesn't. Where is the good spot on the green to land an approach. What holes play longer then the actual distance, etc.. I don't have all day to discuss what parts of the game I needed to work on. - Each and every round I am still learning and trying to further my game. -------
I stopped on Ready goes (when I went to Legend) since I simply could not compete until I worked on my game. After a few months of practice and many many rds each day, I'm able to compete now. By no means am I close to the best players in the game, but given 1 rd and if I am hot, then yes I can compete with the best. My main thing is consistency to shoot in the 50s.
The point is that with practice and practice you will see better results. All the top players, have worked hard to get their game to where it is now. To be the best at something takes hard work and lots of practice.
So practice and practice and practice. Learn the courses, learn the greens, and learn your clubs and learn the correct shots. On every approach, you should have an idea as to where the ball is going to go if you make good contact. Whether it is crosswind, headwind, or tailwind, you should know exactly how much spin or distance is needed to get a good crack at making a bird. Putting is another thing and learning the feel of the breaks is something you will need to learn for yourself.
