    DrussTheLegend:

Only thing to do was try out some more - was despairing of ever making it, but today managed my best ever - a 56

That's a great achievement, especially because the qualifications are from legend tees!

You are following the right way, when you don't succeed at first, just keep to work hard on it and finally it can eventually go through (not all the time but if you don't try hard enough, for sure it will not work). This way works better than whining.

    Regards

Once again read my post again please, this is not about my qualifying, this is about even odds for all! It's also about keeping the spirit of the sport intact. I got nothing against the top players here at all. And the idea that WGT would lose money if they changed it is nonsense! they would make the same dough no matter. And once again, if one player has 2 shots at qualifying and another player has only 1 try. How in the heck does anyone on here see that as a level playing field. I think it's time for WGT to make another change, this time to the tournaments and how they're played! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I've expressed mine, don't have to like but, it's the only way to limit the rants of cheats and such, Also may have an effect on the sandbagging issue too, eveyone should think this out and respond to WGT. The sooner the better!

Thanks Yankee Jim for your thoughts on this, mahalo nui loa!

While I would like to see the qualifying limited to 5 attempts or something like that, I don't believe that the population of players would be different.  It might move the cut line up 2 or 3 strokes but not much.

WGT has no incentive to make this limited, they get lots of action on the site, sell lots of balls, etc. so there is no reason they would change it.  In terms of the top players, they generally qualify with their first round, after that they are mainly going for the low score and the gift that comes with it.

If the course was available for practice, I think limited qualifying attempts would be great. I out with a 58 pretty quickly and had to go back and qualify again as the cut line moved down.  If the qualifying was limited I don't think it would have been necessary.  Even though I prefer limited attempts I can see both sides of the page here.

    YankeeJim:
The conditions are much easier and the scores are surreal. I have a snowball's chance in hell of Q'ing and I have all the good equipment and time to play.

YJ, I had similar thoughts until today.  I had started the RSG Q maybe 75 times.  Had shot a few 62, a few 63s, a few other higher games I finished for kicks.  I had shot a 28 front 9, a couple 29 front 9s.  My best on the back was 31.  My best round ever was a 62 at BPB, and the 3 62s I shot at RSG.

Today I shot 58 at RSG... so many chances to have made it 57, too... and some luck.  I think my longest holed shot from a fairway for eagle on the front 9, and my longest putt ever for eagle on the back.  I shot 27 on the back 9.  But I shot 31 on the front that started -3 after 2, and managed 1 birdie in the next 7 holes.  Otherwise I'd be in.

YJ, if I can shoot 58, I know you can.  And if we can shoot 58, we can shoot 57.

Still got a couple of days... hope my i(z)s hold out until then, don't get paid until the day after :p

LOL-Best of luck, JLB, you're probably right but I did that last year to get in at Oakmont and was so friggin stressed out until I got it I figured this year, if it happens it does. If not, well the stress level is at par anyway.

Kinda sucks being mediocre sometimes but it has its moments.  ;-)

Your right, as soon as you spend some of your CASH Your play is suppose to improve But it doesn't. I just got a new driver {270yards} and it hardly makes the distance. I am so upset. You pay money to enter tournaments and then the meter starts acting up, and it only takes one time and you just wasted how much money. Its not fun any more.                                         As long as we stand and do nothing they won't change , why would they as long as they are making money off us.

You bought a new club yesterday and you expect it to transform your game overnight?

I appreciate that many new players want to see themselves scoring the kind of scores that win tournaments on WGT. The problem is that they have no patience for the time it takes to get good enough to do so. This game requires you to master many different shots, you will not score such low numbers without putting in some serious hours unless you are ridiculously talented.

    Keep the faith ;^)

And remember anytime you buy a new club you should possibly clear you flash cache so that any of you old club data isn't corrupting your new clubs data.

The legends worked for it, and as such have the option of the legend Cally balls, which give more distance, but I salivate at the extra spin bonus.
