Since you're so special how about WGT just hands you an entry on a silver platter. Sounds a lot better than working for it huh??
.. I dont think the issue is about cheating or hand-outs but more to the point the 'unrealistic' scoring that is happening n why its happening.... If WGT sets up harder courses n make scoring 'realistic' they will lose revenue through having the 'Legends' lose their scoring averages of which they protect so damn prudently.. .. .. I say to WGT, make the courses tougher and make PAR a good standard rather than mediocrity.. .. thats reality!
Late to the party here. I've been on vacation. Can you elaborate on how higher scoring averages will cause WGT to lose revenue? If anything they would gain revenue. More shots equals more balls used equals more revenue.
Secondly, don't group all Legends together when making statements about "protecting scoring averages so damn prudently". I think my average is 62 and I've posted MANY rounds over that average. Scoring average may be important to some (not sure why) but definitely not all.
.. If Qualifying for the Opens were played in tougher conditions and BIB lead with a 71, how many people would then try n post scores unless assured of getting close to the cut..? Golfers on this site get very enthusiastic about playing when the conditions are simplistic.. it DECREASES AVERAGES plus the fact to most its MORE FUN GETTING BIRDIES THAN PARS!!!.. .. WGT are aware of this, lower averages n birdies = $$$ with people buying balls n better clubs, thats the enticement n thats cool, its their game, n a damn good one! Your second point doesn't really hold up either, simply check the retiree's in RG's, its all about averages.... And in making my point of view, please dont come that crap of Legend bashing, I realise like most non Legends that you have done the hard yards to get there.... Lastly, can I make it very clear too, the players who lead n win Major Tournaments would still be the same names if the conditions were par n above, thus, why dont WGT set up PAR standard courses for a bit of fun n bite..?.. perhaps it all comes down to revenue...
