denmarjas: I just love how they mess with your meter if you aren't spending money on a weekly basis
Again, can you prove this? ..... My meter is fine... 99.9% of the time. And that .1% is more often than not, something on my end with my laptop.
I personally feel this type of reference is based on how someone feels, I too have felt this way at times, but I don't think it is contingent on whether you spend money or not...I don't know...
My observation is ...if it is strictly on my end...my mouse, my computer, my cache not being cleared...then why is it during a round that things are going well for me my meter gets jumpy when I have selected a "slow meter ball" in order to have a smoother meter for better timing...I get a good round going, my meter gets jumpy or flaky...my round ends up so so.... I shelve the good slow meter ball put in a low credit faster meter ball... then my meter is smooth as a baby's bottom during the next round, which I don't care about.
Now, I didn't change anything except the ball...didn't swap out the mouse, install a new graphics card, didn't clear the cache, just swapped out the ball... based on these type of observations... it does feel like there is something else going on. I have also noticed a jumpy meter around water holes next to the green.
The only proof someone would have would be to record these rounds and hope others could observe the fluctuations in the meter as well. But, I have watched some of the top players comment about their meter being jumpy during their round but you can not really see that in the video so the recording or live view does not seem to present the same way the player is experiencing... This does not mean it doesn't happen or something else is not at play...for all we know one aspect of VEM could be to implement or induce lag in your meter... it may also be something WGT has implemented to try and test or check if someone is using cheat software that manipulates the meter speed...so it is plausible that WGT could be doing something to the meter speed for what some consider a good reason--catching auto dingers. what is aggravating...is those of us not doing that end up getting somewhat screwed by this...sometimes losing a ball...we do not know and we can not prove that because the information is not available to players and WGT would never release it.
I wish I could say my meter is fine 99.9% of the time...but I don't keep stats on stuff like that... I don't keep any stats actually other than what are provided by the game, which can be manipulated and tweaked based on what type of tournaments you play, which tees you play, etc etc...
Sometimes, people need to vent their frustrations and sometimes their personal observations / experience have some value and other times they could be grossly exaggerating what has happened. We all can make mistakes especially when the meter seems flaky around water holes. I know I hate to lose good credit balls because they are expensive enough as it is.
