I had in the beginning put on Marc's profile page that I wanted to help out with providing credits to gift to needy people, and he added me to his friends list so we could discuss by PM how I would do this, this is what transpired -

    "Christmas in July 2018?"

    Hi ukvermonter,

I just saw your post on my profile stating you want to help out, that's awesome! If you could please tell me the amount of credits you are willing to give; I will just keep subtracting from that amount every time I tell you to gift someone.

    Thanks again!

    Best Regards,

    Hi mate,

Someone just recently offered a large amount of credits, so I do not need yours. But if your willing to gift me something with those credits that would be so generous. You see I rent my clubs by doing surveys and offers and it takes quite a bit of time to accumulate them just for a rent. I really want a club that doesn't expire. I only have a set of irons and a putter the rest are starter equipment, and I'm a Legend. Sorry you had to hear my sob story lol, but if I could just ask for the Callaway Rogue 3 Wood (L73+) that would be great. You can keep the rest of the credits if you do decide to gift me. Thanks again anyway for your initial donation.

    Cheers,

    Marc (MARCJR35)

I guess my gift didn't really mean anything to you if you have either just taken it out of your bag or sold it back to WGT, I'm not sure how to take what has happened with the "Christmas In July" but this kind of leaves a bad taste to be duped into just trying to help others.

I then saw this post and still had about 500 credits from my original offer and chose to give a sleeve to this fine gentleman who has served his country and it was greatly accepted -

     KBishop5:

Thanks so much for doing the "Christmas in July" again this year.  What generosity!  As a retired veteran of the United States Navy, means a lot to myself and so many others!

If Santa would be so kind to leave a sleeve of decent Calley's in my bag, It would be most appreciated!

Keep up the great work guys!

    I'll handle this one Marc,

I'm not upset with KBishop5 he deserved the sleeve by requesting them.

Not sure how I feel at the moment but it has made me decide not to get involved with this again or even gift to anyone else again, I do hope WGT looks into this as possible fraud by this person and he gets removed from WGT.

OMG  he sent me the same message only he was asking for a driver which I sent. Last time I looked it was in his bag. I feel so stupid for being duped. I am usually pretty good at seeing through people like this.

I honestly hoped I had it all wrong.............takes a real so-and-so to use one of the finest community events to fleece, MC had him pegged before the first donation. Icon and Champ should fully check this guy out and act accordingly. This super cool event created by MC and Opy was made a disgrace. Do not allow it to go away without repercussion.

I just sent a message to CS asking for this person to be removed from the site as he has scammed many generous members along with WGT as they also gifted him. In real life scammers get jail time. I do hope they act accordingly and swiftly and by the way he has either removed all gifts from his bag or sold them back to WGT.

I came here as a Santa with 5K in my bag ! Soon after, this guy sent me a friendrequest stating to talk about a strategy to send to needy people. I accepted his friend request.

Laters he messaged me stating that most of the people are taken care of, I only need to send one guy a sleeve n one guy a putter( which he knew wasn't available for gifting). then he said, as you know rest all people are given everything what they want(but at the same time I saw couple of people asking for Santas gift n I felt strange) n if I could send him couple of sleeves, an avatar n a sand bag. I sent him those things thinking he was a genuine guy n rest all people were taken care off. Soon after that I sw him removed me n people were still in need of Santa. I feel this guys account should be removed n I also feel bit bad for trusting this guy. I only came to this unusual forum because I saw couple of people rooting for his post. But we all were wrong about this guy. What a shame. This was supposed to be a great event but he turned into a shameless act. Feel sorry for those genuine guys

un friken believable , looks like we all got scammed .  To use the Xmas in July thread to do it is unforgivable . I hope WGT looks into his account and figures out what going on , I sent him a set of irons ( 2500 credits )  and many other sent gifts as well .  Its a sad day for us all .

I see all his new equipment is no longer in his bag ,  I doubt he will respond to this thread anymore .  All I can say is shame on you ..

This is really sad but I mentioned before in here that I had a weird feeling about this thread from the beginning.  Since he had been gifted something from GOG and stated that he was renting equipment at that time I wondered why he did not just save up credits to buy stuff instead of wasting them on rentals.

You know we all get fooled from people who are wolves in sheep clothing.  I myself have been duped but we must just chalk it up to a learning experience and move on from this.  I have been through a lot worse things then this.  So let's just move on and see it as a lesson learned.

Perhaps this thread should be deleted and someone else can start another Christmas In July or August that is an honest person or just let GOG handle the gifting.

    Blessings,

    Marion :-)
