the 2nd can be a killer but i have had many birdies there(many bogies also) what i used to try was just rolling it over the hill top. but that does not work much.

it is a hole that you can attack. if you can miss the mound that protects it you can hold the ball pretty dead.

so ext time hit straight for the pin and see what happens

Actually, I would hit just past the pin. I have burners, and I have birdied that hole from every tee box, every wind, and every position. For  the leftpin, try to land just a tad past the hole: into the wind it will stck and you will have a 3 fter uphill, downwind, you should get close enough to the green to hit a wedge, and those will stick downwindif not  back up and you will have 3 ft uphill or less. For the right pin into the wind, I play 5 yds pastand left of the pin and back it off of the fringe behind the pin and it will endup close. Downwind, you will be close enough to hit a wedge, but I do not recomend bahind because wedges  skip and the spin, going too far befor coming back. I land them as close to the hole as possible and just makeit stick. you need to learn the ins and outs of how St. Andrews works-basically controllingthe bounce and where the ball lands- to understand the approach. I used to play to the top and it leadto mehating the hole- but now it is an interesting strategic test to see how well I can plan the hole. Hope this helps!
