    gilman10:
What do you do about people who are genuinely no good? I know way more people who are poor players than are sandbaggers. There are a few people that I know that struggled to make it from the pro tees to the masters tees even while using master equipment, and even now months after making master have a >70 average. Level based tees would be unfair to them. Not to mention it would force people to buy the new equipment.

Then it's a win-win for WGT ($$) and the community who supports them playing via credits (us).

Let me put it this way, and maybe allude to what Jalabar is saying.

What chance does a 2 or 3 month old Master have in a RG anyway?  Most likely zero chance, most likely is not playing RG's or MPC's.

That said...alluding to Jalabar's suggestion, is he (nor I) care where a level 70 Master with a 75 average tees off from in an AS, MP-scored, or unlimited/free tourney.

I played a TourPro in MPC a few days ago, then afterwards looked at his profile...going in I knew he was at Level 87.

He tees off with the G10 270 yard driver, has level 72 Burners, Cleveland wedges.

After the first tee says "can't wait to reach Level 88 and get your driver (R11)"...I'm thinking WTF for?  lol.

Like I mentioned, looked at his score history, all blitzes and MP's, and something like 30 ranked rounds...at Level 87!

Cmon, this is the type of thing that needs to be curbed.

Sure, I didn't have to play, but for a 100cr game, I said WTH.

Not being pedantic with this question and I haven't read the whole topic...but is sandbagging actually against the t's & c's/rules?

    Cheers

Probably not, but kinda like picking your nose in public.  You're not breaking any rules, just bad form.

It's not just bad form.  It's simply not fair.  And it's not logical.  If there is nothing that allows Legends to hit the ball farther than other tiers, why move them back so far?  Why does the game attempt to equalize what isn't an advantage?  It's simply a penalty to the better players, which is just silly.

I'm cool with playing from the Legend tees against Legends.  What I'm not cool with is playing in open RGs against L88 Tour Pros with my equipment hitting from 60 yards in front of me.

When I hit Legend I wasn't even 85 yet.  Fun, fun playing against TMs in alt shot that could outhit me (R11) AND were hitting from closer, AND on the long holes had a better 3W as well.  Great fun.

WGT created this problem by making equipment available to every one.  Why not move it back to tier based equipment how it used to be. ( But its a bit late for that now lol)

That's why I have said that clubs should not only be available at certain levels, but tie them into specific tiers...why does a Tour Pro need a driver that can hit 282?

At a guess, to win MPCs.

Maybe the lower your tier, the less forgivenessand more precision  a higher end club would have.   Sure anyone can go out and buy an expensive set of clubs, but if you cant hit them properly then they arent gonna fly like they should.  So with less forgiveness there's a better chance that lower tiered player would have more mishit shots.

Obviously changing the characteristic of a club based on tier probably isnt that easy to do.  So tier based clubs sound like the way to go (back to)

I play alot of MPC's and usually check out the profiles of the players, it's amazing how many masters and TM's haven't played a ranked round in months, and if they do it's maybe 1 a week. Now obviously not all TM's and masters do this but there are quite a few.

That's why I say, make the higher lvl clubs available only when they reach certain tiers and maybe they will have some motivation to try the next tiers tee boxes.

Why not just make certain equipment available only to tier-qualified players? For example, there are Callaway balls and there are Legend Callaway balls. In the same vein, you could have a lvl 88 R11 and a Legend R11 with, say, increased precision and a slower meter, or whatever. Make some better equipment available to all, make the best equipment available only to some. WGT would still sell clubs, and it would level the playing field too.
