The fact that you've got guys that can shoot in the low 60's playing a qualifier over and over takes the rest of the players out of it, period! The fact that WGT sells balls has nothing to do with the ammount of times one has to qualify. I've said this before, no one should have more than one qualifying round. One and only one, this adds the fact that a legend could have a bad round and that opens the door for someone else to step in and qualify. Thus keeping the game more realistic, which is what WGT strives for. Why they allow more than one qualifying round is, to me, unfair to all but the very best on here. If these guys are so good what do they have to worry about. Things shouldn't change that much for them. If this keeps going the way it's been going, WGT has a good chance of losing people who won't enter tourneys because there is just no chance for anyone other than the best players to compete. Notice I didn't say"win", all I'm saying is compete. Right now there is no competition as far as tourneys with unlimited qualifying goes, I won't even enter these cause I already know that I can't compete with someone who gets from anywhere to 30 more shots at qualifying than I do. The rest of the golfers on here should really take notice of this, since it seems to me that it is set up primarily for the elite players to be the only ones that are going to have a shot at winning anything on here.

    piztaker:

I think it would be best to limit it to say 5 rounds if it were possible.

We are always on the same songsheet Piz.

I really don't get WGT at times. During the Open qualifiers many asked for a system where people had 'limited' goes to post their best. It seems it has been ignored again.

Unlimited becomes addictive for some. Keep getting 62s and you come back to try for a 61 etc.. More balls used etc..

I have given up on playing them. My best 18 ever is a paltry 60. I find only frustration awaits constantly going for a 59 or lower. There is no fun i constantly playing 3 holes for three birdies - and then when you get them, screwing up a double bogey 10 holes later.

4 goes at it. Post your best score. WGT strive for making the most realistic golf sim available. Limited attempts to qualify is just that.

I agree iukine, after all most of the legends and TM's have played these courses enough to know them like the back of their hand. My chance of qualifying is like winning the mega lottery .Let's get real and have 1 round for qulifying. JM2cents.

Know 'em like the back of our hands....

Choosing the buggiest, most screwed up course available.

Oh thats right, Its my fault, I'm supposed to LEARN the errors in the green mapping.4 years and still unable to fix the green mapping? No photos involved, just some small effort on WGTs part to make a quality product work properly.

Any other course, fine, but this really p*sses me off.

I understand what you want to say with this. But i think its vice versa... if there is only one round, many people would not have a chance as they are not consistent enough under pressure. This way, you can have a huge amount of tries and you dont have a lot of pressure per try (maybe the last 5 holes or so). And it wouldnt change that much of the scoring at top... legends meet each other at 55/56 like this after some time of trying... otherwise they meet at 59. I would prefer a 59 cut with 100 tries over a 63 cut with 1 try in your case i guess.

Just my thoughts about this, although i dont like unlimited tournaments at all.

    Cheers, Hans

I agree that any special events should be only 1 try per player.....only fair way to go. Not sure why they haven't figured this out by now. It is not such a special event if it can be played 250 times if one wishes, with as many quits as you like.

Come on WGT.....this seems to be what most want.

I'm kinda warming up to iukines thinking, but just not totally there yet,

I do think some limit should be placed, but one has to wonder if it's just single qual, what if you start having meter issues, etc?

Anyway, bottom line is WGT will NOT limit quals for large tourneys, financially they make some good coin here via balls.

iunke seems to have the exact same thinking i had in not really striving to win, it would just be nice to compete.  Someone said they are not accepting less than 4 under for the first 3, which means aiming for eagle on 2nd hole.  Unless you're a legend (or a very high level), you can't reach the green in 2 from the back tees.  The free tournys every week/month are fun, but they are so short, and you have a whopping 2 round tourny that is still only 18 holes total.  For me I just want a chance to go into a deep tournament.

Maybe I wouldn't feel so left out if there were month long multi rounds, 18 holes per week, 4 rounds, just like a real tournament.  Something like that would be a lot more fun, and I think I would even be willing to pay 100 credits if it was a premium (25 a week isnt so bad).  Having said that I have never paid for a tourny not because I dont think I could compete, but because the payoff just doesn't seem quite worth it as I only get the one round and then its over.

Just to reiterate my thoughts on this subject. Here's a scenerio you might agree with...... let's say a popular golfer, Mickelson for example, is one stroke under the cut line after his third qualifying round. But wait a minute, here comes Tiger and Furyk and Els shooting lights out, after their tenth qualifying round, which by the way, knocks the cut line down two more strokes, all of a sudden Phil's on the outside looking in because the other golfers got more shots to qualify and bring down the cut line. Does that sound like a  fair deal to you, sure as hell don't sound like a level playing field to me. Wgt needs to address this nonsense as soon as possible, just so all who play here are no longer cheated out of their credits for all the balls they buy, which is what it boils down to, so figure it out. I'm gonna take some heat for this, from all different directions, but I feel it's worth it to get WGT to do something about it.

-4 after 3 is nonsense... i played my first round, was -2 after 3 and didnt make a single eagle the whole way. Finished at 55. Who needs eagles or hitting the par5 greens in 2?
