WGT is not unlike just about any
business. They are going to do what they can to grow and maximize profit so it
wouldn’t surprise me if they planned the ‘best of’ stretch of holes with that
in mind.
I still think it’s way wrong that
any ball which goes OB or in the thick crud is considered a ‘lost ball.’ That’s
just not right and smells badly of profiteering. Balls that go in the water are
a bit of a different story….but…….to program a golf game with “realism” as a
primary goal and then blatantly incorporate the ‘unrealistic’ lost ball
parameters is a clear contradiction. I play real golf and I watch real golf and
balls are NOT lost 100% of the time just because they exit the boundaries of
the hole. This, for me, is the only part of the game that strongly suggests
profit over realism which is too bad.
