WGT undoubtedly is the most realistic virtual golf game there has ever been. My only complaint is about bunkers.
In real life golf, when a ball first hits a fairway or rough, then rolls into a bunker, its lie is mostly on top of the sand surface. From there the player can make a reasonably solid contact with the club face and get decent yardage. If the ball comes down either directly out of the sky, or from a high bounce into the sand it can be partially - or fully buried. And naturally the ball's lie is greatly affected.
In WGT golf, a ball can roll for a few - or many yards on the grass surface before it comes to rest in a bunker where it always seems to auger itself deeply into the sand. The player then has to hit from a 30 - 40% or even 40 - 50% lie. And only God can help you.
I feel that WGT's virtual bunkers could be improved with more playable lies than they are now. Yes, they should be challenging, but without nearly always being a death sentence. I say this because of the bunkers on the Bethpage Black course all have a 15 - 25%(?) lie whether the ball falls straight in or rolls in. And in the coin room games' tiebreakers, they are sometimes 5 -15%!
I answered a recent WGT satisfaction survey and suggested only this as an improvement. I hope it's under consideration...
