Is I a cheater?

  I play 2 shot it go on fringe 20 metres from flag. Opponent go 2 metres from flag. I not put but play flop shot, it go in pot. Oppponent he missing his putt. I win hole.

  Drving next hole opponent he say to me I a cheater play flop from fringe. I say not. He say must use putter club and he call me a cheater and some nasty bad words and he stop playing.

  Are it to cheat not to use putter club on the fringe?  If I told yes then I not do this another time.

  You may use what ever club or you wish form any where you wish, and most good players will chip, pitch and flop from the fringe at times, and putt other times.

  Think you're opponent didn't appreciate you holing out from the fringe, and is a bad loser, ignore him.

  I agree with Kindle, you play whatever shot you wish and you obviously chose the correct shot. Well played.

  Absolutely not. In fact, not putting from the fringe is a good way to go, sometimes. The flop shot has always been a good way to get close. I have flopped a lot of shots in from the fringe.

  Well, he is just an ID-10t,    Nice flop in btw,  If you can select the club and hit the shot then it's not cheating.

  I usually chip, not putt, from the fringe. He probably thought you were on the green. Even then it is definitely NOT cheating, although many seem to think you have to use your putter on the green.
