G0LD, congratulations on your putting stats and low score on WGT.  But please do me a favor, if you see me searching for players in an alt-shot format, please click "search again" because otherwise I'll be swearing at the computer screen all round.

"HIT THE $#C*!NG BALL!!!  WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?!"

i think i understand how you're coming up with your 1 vs. 2  vs. 3 figures.  sometimes the dots move slowly representing a slow break (1) sometimes faster (2) and sometimes lightening fast (3+).  SOMETIMES on a double-breaker i'll do something similar and use that to count up how far it breaks one way, then counter that with how many it breaks the other way.  so at the end, i'm not left judging the break over the whole 40', maybe it's only the last 10 feet or so.

...that being said it takes me about 10 seconds.

I've never used math one time to shoot a sub-30 round from the tips, or any round for that matter. Its still a good thesis on putting though Gold.

I can see how slide rules, protractors, T-squares, and pi could help a person be a better putter in this game, but it seems too impractical to me. The alternative is to play a lot of ranked rounds on all the courses.

    Happy hitting

If you read the original post and READ IT and use it its quite simple actually and in most cases if you get the ball close enough you can do the calculations in your head.

I figured it out thx. The only adjustment you have to make is if the ball is coming off a hill you have to come from the other side of the grid. So the grid line next to the hole would be 0 and the hole is 30 thats my observation anyway

oh and by the way you have to count the hole as part of the grid you can't start from the edge of the cup

If I understand it right, these are the numbers YOU assign to the speed of the dots travelling down each line, with 1 being the slowest on a scale of 1 to 4. Kinda like a speed rating. It confused me at first but gets easy to do as you study the speeds.

@Gold-Andyson clued me to this thread and at first look I thought it was going where Pillsy pointed-slow play. I took a serious look at how to use it and I can see where it would yield some pretty consistent results but there's too much math going on, on the surface.

I don't have to use a calculator because I'm good with math in the head so I looked for a fast computation with your style and I think I have it. Please correct me if I don't have it right.  Total distance (including elevation) X number of dots divided by number of lines. THAT number is the aim correction based on 30 being the size of the grid box.

    Is this it?

    Gold:

I have read that formula three times and trying to imagine what you're looking at just isn't working for me. You have said "see example". Where is said example? I'd love to see a video or at least a picture so I can understand this better.

    Thank you!
