    Chambers bay, anyone tell me how to play there! Its too hard course or i forgot how to putt?

    Here's an article on Sports Illustrated's site I found interesting.  It describes how the USGA is preparing the site for the US Open.  It contains this old 1949 photo (courtesy of the USGA)

    of the sand and gravel quarry the course was built on.

    Yes, the issue at Chambers Bay is that the greens are all fine fescue grass which is completely different than Poa, or Bentgrass.  Fine Fescue looks to have little grain, but it is there.  For example, when playing toward the water, the speed might be 10, playing away from the water, it is 8.  I don't know if the WGT game reflects this, but that is the reality on the real course.  Also, the slope of the greens is much more since the fescue will hold the ball on the slopes.
