How am I supposed to QF for Open?

  Buggyyy:

  To qualify for the Open, I think you must shoot a 57 or less now.

  The cut is still at 59 right now, but looking at some of the players at 58 - 61, for sure it's going to drop.

  The front 9 is tough enough without these kids swinging around in the trees being a distraction on hole #4

  I'm expecting Yancy to find his way to this hole because IMO that tree is actually one of those aliens from War of the Worlds in disguise.  :-D

  This course has me completely baffled. I am nowhere near good enough to shoot low so no point playing the qualifier. Maybe in a few months i might be able to post a decent score.

  I think WGT crank up the deviation you get in a round when you start to do well.  I've played today for an hour and a half, on 5 occasions i've birdied the first 4 holes, then on 5 i will hit a tree.  After the 2nd time i thought this was strange, so i purposely aimed more left to avoid tree on the 3rd attempt and was planning on landing in rough rather than hit tree, then i hear some sort of clunk on the drive and my DINGED drive fly's right not hitting the branch but the actual main tree

  This exact thing happened to me 4 of 5 times yesterday, the fifth time I was -4 in there I shot an iron, save par, made -7 on the front but couldn't make a birdie in the back, all putts started not to where I aimed.

  lol I did laugh when I hit the main tree after aiming the other way and dinging.

  ... probably there are very few good deviations for that place... I hope to get one soon before I give up the open.

  This course makes me want to kill someone. I was playing it beautifully. Reached the 13th 5 under with no bogeys. Slightly mis-judged the wind at 13 and bunkered. Turns into a double bogey :(

  i mega-loath the 16th - not sure I've ever even played it in par. Thought I w3s ok today as my first two shots had hit the fairway but nope, third shot from the fairway hits a tree. Another double bogey.

  I had 23 putts in that round and somehow only carded a 69. Bugger.

  Sounds like you had a serious ham and egg day. I got a 62 out of 23 putts and felt like I had been put through the ringer. The course is a mind bender.

  The Cream will rise to the top. I won't even waste my time. The ones going for the prize, will be the players who really have the game. Get em RUNWME. I want to see ya win this. My next choice was G Soup, but he won't get serious.

  Well holes like the first I can't reach in 2 shots without a tailwind! I had a few on the fringe for easy up and downs but my average putting distance was only 10 ft or something.

  I can't imagine scoring a 62 at Olympic ;)

  This answers one of my questions, when you are doing well the powers that be do make you suffer for no reason I was baffled till I read your comments. Why is this?????
