sir, that was a big ass putt!! very well done!!. But also have to say. I don't usually have to putt from more than 40 feet, so i don't have a good record on long putts!! Hit it straight!! =)

I'd like to amend my earlier statement by saying that this game offers many different choices for varying tastes. By all means , if you want to wedge it, the ctth putting challenge offers that option. If, say your alt shot partner has had a few too many cocktails ( not that I would know anything about that :)) you may find yourself in a position where a 260 ft. putt is small potatoes, lol. Lonnie, for what it's worth, imo, you really do need to lighten up and just have some fun playin' the game any way you see fit, just like the rest of us. No offence meant, but comin' off like somebody just pissed in your cornflakes tends to put a negative aspect on a positive thing.

    Doc

For the most part, I do play and have fun. Lately been trying different browsers and different adobe flash players to get a smooth meter.Still looking and since adobe has screwed everything up, now am playing only 3 holes just for XP`s and then I`m done. No offense takin Doc , maybe I just expect more from the game than what`s being delivered .But you are right,to each his or her own. Play your game and dont worry about the next guy. Happy Swinging . SeeeeeeeeYaaaaaaaaaaa

    Did you 1963jth??

    Keep 'em coming WGT!

You are right, my longest putt is 37 ft. on record , so what. The last time I checked, the object of the game was too get as close to the hole as possible, and then putt. I dont need to practice for long putts, as I am working on my iron game to get closer to the hole for shorter putts. So it seems to me , as stated earlier in post, if these are the distances you are putting from , you may want to either practice on your short game or give up the game and go fishing. As for that 37 footer, that was done back when I was either an amateur or pro .And yes I do need to work on my putting, so I spend my time playing practice stroke play and not wasting my time on trying to make unrealistic putts.Happy Swinging

I fully agree.   These long putts are completely unrealistic.

While the putts are not what we normally get in normal game play, that isn't the intent of the challenge.

If they gave us 9 putts inside of 12 feet it wouldn't be much of a challenge.  I applaud WGT on this one they got it right.  Give us something that 'challenges' us that is outside the norm of what we see.  If you don't like it, you aren't required to play it.

what a stupid answer! this putting thing was my idea and wgt acknowledged that over a year ago. (is taken that long to develop).the putts they have done so far have for the most part, been absolutely bogus! no one asked for 12 footers nimrod,  260 footers, and 100 footers with 20 foot breaks are just nonsense. give us a variable and make the speeds different too. not all tourney speed which wgt has totally screwed up on its program! they need to  back to the drawing board. same with many of the tourneys to. ever notce, ayone? that right after a birdie, some result doesnt make sense? i've studied that and in 90% of the caes, its happened. from mystery metering to putts being a strange 3 inches short etc. bogus, bogus. eeds to be adresse before idling with the side hill lie crap! get to it wgt, got a decent thing here thats going downhill. . .

I love the putting CTTH challenge format!  And I'd like to give proper credit to the originator of this great idea!

I searched the forums using kensabre10 + putting + challenge but got only this post as a match.   So I tried searching for kensabre10 + putting + CTTH and got no matches.

Not to be deterred, I went to kensabre10's Activities List.  You've been here about 13 months and there are only 10 pages so no monumental effort was needed. It took me like 15 minutes to go through every single post (mostly rants) you've made on these forums.

Sorry mate, I did not find a single post by you suggesting "this putting thing", putting challenge, or putting CTTH.  Your claim to fame is bogus (one of your favorite words it turns out).

I again searched the forums looking for the true originator of this idea.  I searched for putting + ctth and quickly found the what I think is the earliest suggestion of a putting CTTH.  Way back, nearly 3 years ago on December 15th, 2009, AtlantaCoaster made this post:

Re: Tournament - Putting Challenge - similar to CTTH Format

My thanks to AC for planting the seed!

I did find another thread in December 2010 by stuffix that deserves some mention as it was revived in May of 2012 and could have provided the impetus needed to WGT to finally get it done in July.

I remember AC mentioning the Putting idea which led me to suggest the Par 3 idea

Par 3 Compilation a few days later.  Speaking of the Par 3 challenge ( and no intention on highjacking the thread) I thought I saw it was a available to WGT Nation only not too long ago.  Or am I mistaken ?  I really like the idea and would be fun to play.  Plenty of threads out there with options as to how to score it.  12 holes or Par 3's / Par 5's combo.

As far as the Putting Challenge goes... you can keep #2, I can't seem to get anywhere close with all that sidehill. Plenty of fun though.  Another interesting twist would be to have it set up in practice mode and be allowed to putt out.  Might satisfy some peoples desire for a practice green.

I would like to understand why that when I made the first putt of 83 feet, twice I have done it and it saved it the same way both times on this 9 hole putting challenge only to have it  saved as a 28 foot putt on hole #2?not mad,but It would be nice to have it saved as it was played.

I think andyson has got it right on the head here and I echo his point.  I too love the challenge and have been striving to conquer it all the way. ...8 down but just stumped with Hole @2..LOL....just have 2 concerns:

1.) Why cant the longest putt on the course (#8) be logged as a players record once it has been aced?

    2) Why cant WGT remove the capability of other clubs and set the putter as a default club for this CTTH...after all it is a putting challenge...(Surely, I admire those who can demonstrate their chipping skills but for Pete's sake playing all 9 holes with a wedge is just tasteless....

Otherwise...Kudos WGT for a uniquely challenging ctth course!!
