Its fast heading towards a 63 to qualify.  Ten more players to score 63 and there are going to an awful lot of people stuck on 64 burning the midnight oil trying to get down that one elusive shot.  The way 17 is playing (into the wind) I think that a couple of shots in hand before playing this would calm the nerves.  It's really annoying when you play 16 holes and have a chance of posting a good score and then along comes 17 and it's start again time - that is, if you haven't thrown your computer out of the window!

I'm one of those people sitting at 64.  I remember being a bit angry after that round too because i missed a number of makeable putts.

On a day where I played like complete crap, amazingly the one good round I had was a 62 during this qualifying.

I hope it stands up, along with my 64 at Oak.

Man, mental block removed but not without much sweat.  Left myself -5 on the front (could have picked up another 2 strokes) but gave myself an eagle try on #5 from 141ft away.  The calculation took me about 2 minutes and just grazed the edge on the low side and left 2 ft for bird, phewwwww.  Got to -9 through 16, hoping for par, birdie finish.  Smacked drive on 17 early (bad move with right to left wind) right into 50-60 fescue.  Punched a 6 iron down to 120yds on the fairway, spun a PW to 14ft, grazed the edge, bogey.  Go to 18, which I have a hard time with, I mostly birdie but usually from great putts on bad approaches.  63yds to pin, left it 14ft short.  14ft breaking right to left and 1inch downhill for a 63, and taking some of the pressure off qualifying until next week.  Popped it, rolling, curls in for a -9, 63.  Think it will hold?  Tied for 83rd.

No guarantees Neil, but at the moment it'll require 69 people to shoot 62 or better in the next 10 days for a 63 not to hold up.  That seems to be a bit too tall of an order in too short a time, but I'd keep plugging away to get that 62 and guarantee yourself a spot for sure.

Hey Niv - are there any plans to keep the championship set ups once the qualifiers are finished ? In my opinion the SA course in its present incarnation is the most fun of all the courses, and I would love to continue playing it in the future.

Also, any plans to show the total number of participants to enter the qualifiers ? I won't qualifier for the end game, but it would be nice to see where I came on the overall ladder
