    Pimpollillo:
,last weekend I could try out the L79 RocketBladz and... Well in just one day I realized about the big difference between them.

    Do you mean 'Burners' ?

And yes they are / were better than the L59's.

WGT introduce a "new irons" set, Rocketbladze, and what are they???? They're the burners with a new NAME.  This is getting lamer & lamer.  Why not keep the burners but introduce the bladze with a slight difference, extra forgiveness or something, not just swap the burners fpr the bladze and then hype them as new equipment.

The people WITH $ to spend on this site (built up credits) never get  decent equipment to rush out to buy, it seems lately all the new equipment are old irons re-branded and never aimed at tour legends.  Please, give us something worthwhile to spend $ on

And spend $4 on a bag which is only ornamental, what next for us $10 for us to have our pet dogs on the tee with us.

Yep....Burner 2.0's renamed (and replaced) with a slower meter. I have G20 L83 and the Burners L79. I play with the Burners 75% of the time purely for their stopping power but both sets are great clubs.

The Burners have faster meter and many members will probably have them so they now have the choice to drop to a slower meter (at a cost obviously) or wait till the R11s L90.

Whatever way you look at it, it's a good marketing ploy from WGT but why delete the Burners. As has been said before, playing with them would get you used to the faster meter of the R11s and I would suggest members should have been given the choice.

    Just my 2 cents....

    Bob

Has anyone bought them. I'd like to hear from them about the positives and negatives.

I'm not sure the half an increment slower meter will make much difference, as I see no notable difference between the speeds of R11 driver (noon) and R11 irons (half past). But now the L83 G20s are obsolete, since there's less difference in speeds between them and the new kids on the block. However, don't knock L59 G20s down, they're about the only slow enough clubs I can actually use when I play in the evening from my home laptop. I scored fairly decent with them until a week ago, when I got R11s. And I'd actually still like to swap my new R11 6-9 irons with L59 Pings. I find them to have more consistant results in all direction (length wise and sideways), but perhaps I just need more time to adjust to my new set. However, as YJ already stated, it's the 3-5 irons that make a world of difference.

So, for all who can handle the faster speed, this half a notch slower version of the Burners/Bladez will be a welcomed addition. I still however think that there's quite enough time from L59 to L79 to get to know your Pings well enough to not need any upgrades (except the L81 driver) before L90. Just my opinion though.

alright fellas .. errmm, yeah, picked them up .. like a sorry sap i couldn't resist .. pitiful

have only played one round with them on front of RSG .. managed a 29 & from what i could tell, knowing the Burners the way i do, they play EXACTLY the same, besides of course the slightly slower mtr ..

long irons, 3 & 4 i .. again, exactly the same as Burners .. same everything .. same precision, same high trajectory, same stopping power, little forgiveness .. but the 12pm mtr is nice given that the rest of my clubs, drivers & wedges, are also at noon mtr wise .. when i missed ding, i was very close on the line ..

these are gonna be gulped up i'm sure ..

will also get R11's at lvl90 .. i always keep 2 sets of irons .. i've dumped my lvl83 G20's now .. haven't played with them for very long time .. haven't considered playin' with 'em anyway since i don't like the slower mtr anymore ..

my verdict on the Bladez .. thumbs up

    Thumbs up

Yeah , what they should of done was tweaked the G20s with these specs, and given the Bladez the old G20 specs. Why pay more for less? Now the lvl 83 Irons wont be worth getting anymore. At a lower lvl and 100 credits less, why bother , ? Same with the new Max putter. Why not tweak the existing putters and give new putter some of the older specs. I guess the older established players dont get any consideration. Oh well , I wont be buying them , as I have only had the G20s for about 3 months now and to do so wwould be wasting my credits. Happy Swinging

    Buggyyy:

All of those slight advantages you state make a big ass difference. Those extra 5 yds come in handy, and the yardage gaps are filled better with the R11s instead of have 3 clubs within 10 yds of each other. I say stay with your Burners and wait for the R11s. This is coming from someone who used the Burners since level 79. Adjusting to R11s will be a lot easier than any other iron upgrade in the game.

Just finished 4 rds with the "bladez"--Bugz is right--the yardage gaps suck---the lack of spin make it impossible to hold the green with a tail wind and distance is not consistant-its just another  way for WGT comes up with to sell more creds.. Wait for the R11s--the baldez are not even close.

lack of spin ? we must've played with different Bladez then .. they stop exactly the same as Burners .. had no problems with distances either .. tailwind 3i still obviously needs a little allowance for roll out .. i've found them no different than the Burners ..

haven't played the R11's yet, obviously .. next on my list .. no doubt they'll be better, since they are obviously the top irons on WGT .. but the Bladez, like the Burners, are good none the less ..

Is there any difference is trajectory? I thought that just possibly they had made the trajectory slightly higher. After all one of the things that Taylor Made stresses on their web site is that The Rocket Bladez have a higher trajectory that other irons.
