Well after going to my local Chinese Buffet tonight I happened to stop by the new Sports store in town. I took a look at these new blades from Taylor Made called Rocket Bladez.

    Here is the run down:

    Price: $599.00 PW-3

Feel:  Very light weight for steel shafts & feel smooth with a 1/2 back swing (In store :) )

Club Head: Very shallow for cavity type clubs, unless they were not intentionally made this way.

Sole: Normal face with small sweet spot which makes it appear to not have much forgiveness.

Balance: Very nice from shaft to club head, almost feels like an extension of your body when swinging.

Overall: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars due to the size of the club face and deepness of the sole.

Rather pricey for steel shaft clubs.

I also tried out the 3 Taylor Made Ghost putters ( $179.99 each) they had and the best one with  balance and feel was the Spider (level 35 & 66 on WGT site)

The other two were the Ghost Manta & Rossa

Which seemed a little heavy and not as balanced as the Ghost spider S series

    Happy Golfing!

    Joe

I'm close to LVL 90, but as usual pulled the string on these puppy's. I had the Pings. My Take so far. Day 1: Holed my 2nd shot ever with the wedge from 125. Wind effect holy cow batman I was aiming entire football fields over with 8 mph wind. Subsequent days now summary, Like throwing darts, same meter speed throughout my bag, wind effect has returned to normal. Hole distance stat has come down by a full foot, beat my all time best by 2 strokes with a 53 at SA and finally got my first HI1. LVL 90 can come and go if these puppy's stay like that.

I'm just glad things seemed to simmer down, day 1 I was like, CHIT I should of rented them, distance dispersion was uncontrollable, and I already mentioned the wind effect for side, but head and tail only sometimes had any effect, but always with full shot full BS, so I was able to adapt a bit.

Just to give you some idea of side wind effect day 1, I'm in the fairway on 16 at CCC about 65 yards to the back pin, wind is left to right at 11, I had to aim left of the bunkers on the left of the green, basically aim for the trees result 5 feet left (DING). Strangest thing though I was playing the Cleveland but even those were doing the same thing.

And yes I had cleaned everything when I equipped my bag even the jiz off my keyboard got cleaned.

I sold the pings when I holed my second shot as well, so I thought I was stuck with complete lemons and was destined to hack my way around here for a while.

But thankfully things simmered down and now for 2 days now they have been like throwing darts, extremely accurate and precise.

A definite upgrade from the pings, I can't see any reason to go r11 at lvl 90. BUY BUY BUY I say.

My 53 wont post for a bit for reasons I think I'm not allowed to say, but it will go up soon.

While the trajectories of the R11's, burners and bladez theoretically being the same are there any discernible differences anyone can see. I wonder if the R11's have increased loft due to increased spin.

Without a doubt. Aside from the R11 yardage gaps being more even at 15 between them all, the 3, 4 and 5 irons are the big difference.  I went from the Burners (had them as soon as they came out) to the R11s and was astounded at how those 3 irons are markedly better than any before them at holding greens on approach. They make the purchase worth everything. :-)

When I rented the R11's on the free weekend, the 3 iron stood out as so amazing I was ashamed of myself. That thing can stop a ball on a dime and it doesn't take the top Nike ball to do it.

I never was good at dinging  shot's with R11 irons so i thought i'd give these irons a blast. I really like them so far, mainly because I have to actually think for some of my approach shot's. Just reminds me of how I used to play the game, by trying use all means possible to get ball close, use of contours, punching my pw again. Not just full bs which i did mainly with R11's.

Maybe I won't score as well with these Irons but def more enjoyable to play with.

courses played with 'em so far .. RSG, CCC, BP & Kia .. got the distances on them figured mostly now .. another thing i've noticed is that they seem just a tad more forgiving than the Burners ..

like Steven says, when faced with tail & 3-4i shot, gotta think it through a bit .. cross & head winds the long irons pretty much stops inside 0-2 yds ..

Exactly why I use the Tour-SD ball with them. The yardages match the rating, too, so you actually play a more realistic game having to utilize rolls instead of stopping them in some cases. Heh, you do wince when your op sticks it to a yard with that Nike and your roll stops somewhere past that.

I was like CD when I first got them. New Legends quickly learn about long iron approaches and when I first made it, the Burners were the top clubs. Struggle Central getting close. Then came the R11s and the Burners were gone by the end of the first round.  :-)
