the R&A aren't stopping WGT from delivering a 2nd HD course every year. any astute business would have had a plan B in place months ago considering the HUGE letdown last year.
to be the best, you need to retain the quality of the product and deliver the goods time and time again without fail or else the future will be waxy to say the least.
entertainment businesses which have a habit of letting their customers down tend to crash & burn sooner or later. tiger woods online's troubles shouldn't be seen as a bonus for WGT....it should be seen as a warning of how tides can change when you take an online community for granted and let things slide.
"ok ...no British Open guys BUT we managed to reach an agreement with another fantastic venue and it'll be here in July / August." <-------- This is what people will want to hear....not another freakin' letdown.
wgt need to have a good look around them because they're eventually gonna leave the door wide open for some clever bunch with great ideas, a great looking game & the financial clout to follow it through successfully...a bit like perfect parallel but with a hugely charismatic team running it & real financial support backing the product all the way from start to release date meeting any deadlines on time, giving their customers 100% satisfaction without fail.
i want WGT to succeed. i want them to crush any competition...i only want the best for this game and the players who play it.
just don't let things slide :)
