Yes, we made it through the 1st round without pulling all our hair out.  Filmslayer made a great comeback on the back, 4 birdies overall. I was jealous.  And, yes, I am a "Ma'am". Here are the stats & pics:

Looks like we have had some excellent scores posted so far.  I will be absolutely over the moon thrilled if I can card a 79 or below, but realistically I'll probably be happy with anything under 90 LoL.

    Corwyn:

It's wonderful to see 4 players already in the clubhouse, having survived a tough first round (and no clubs have been thrown so far, by the looks of things!).

Pro Tip: I'm hoping to catch bhoese out on course on Wednesday night, so I can take care of that in a hurry.......possibly before the end of the first hole even. Odds are it will be my putter that ends up in the ditch rofl. :)

If all goes well BogieZed and I will get our round played today. So far I've practiced extremely well which worries me for the round that counts. I'm under par pretty steady on the last 4 practice rounds I've gotten in.

I'm hoping to see a lot of cards in the next couple of days and tales of what could have been as well. ;)

    Why...

... well, just because we like to torture you, of course!

Actually, if I remember right, that hole does offer a way to reach the fairway further right and shorter even if you're into the wind, or a possible way to bounce off the bank of rough.

We do recognize every player will get some tough breaks with wind and pin placements throughout the tourney, but figure it will all even out in the end, and whose who prevail will ride the rough with the smooth.

I am envisioning a future tourney concept that's a better-ball pairs Tough-It-Out from the Tips (and that will be really hard!!!), so if you're moved to complain now, just wait! You'll love that tourney. One possible way to frame the challenge is whether the pair can get round in 600 shots or less (i.e. +35 over the 8 full free courses).

    ----------------------

I think several pairs are scheduled to go out today (in fact, it looks as if Dazza and Mati are out on the course right now).

    Here's a Leaderboard so far.

BogieZed and I got our first round played. It was a hard slog and I think he got the worst of it. Just like I thought, I practiced better than I played in the round that counted. I had a putt for par on the 18th to shoot even par that I ended up missing the stupid ding and missed the putt. After all the play, that bugs me a little. I really had a goal of shooting even par or under in mind for this round. Oh well, now for the tail of the tape.

Just played a great round of golf with Dazza.

It was a pleasure to see such a talented player tough it out :)

Thanks for a fun round :)
