3rd hole at Bethpage is a golden example. Back pin is 240 yards from the black tees. I have a 3 wood that is rated at 240 yards ( but easily goes 247) but I'm always given my driver. I know I should check but I've lost a good few balls there.

Icon. Im not sure if its the caddy, or you folks just dont like me, lol. But i am forever getting shots that come up as much as 20-25 yards short  (but today i got a 40 yard short shot). I am not kidding. Maybe the caddy is showing me the club i want to use, but in the background the settings are something different altogether, im not sure.

If you folks cant figure this out, how are we supposed to help you when we are not the folks running the game. I will stop now, before i lose my reason.

Or maybe you are selecting the wrong shot? I am tired of these threads, blaming WGT for everything. yes, it happens! I know it!

4000 ranked rounds, another 1000 mpcs, and these are very rare to me......get a grip and start analyzing the shot for what it is, after you hit it..........most likely, too much back spin, bad judgement in landing zone, misread the wind........

    just saying,

Bogey, i signed up here in Aug 2010. If i havent worked out that i should double check my clubs by now, then i shouldnt be here. Come on man, give me some fecking credit.

An example of the type of shot i would get. Straight fairway to the green, no elevations. 160 yards to the pin, with a 10mph headwind. I select my 170 yard iron, use full power with about half backspin. Double check im using the correct club. Ding the shot, and it lands at 145 yards.Tell me that isnt fecked up then?

Your sick of threads like this, yet they are there, and from plenty of players well capable of ripping up a course. This chit does happen, but lucky old you does not see this happen to you, well goody for you man.

I had given up the ghost on complaining about it, as i had plenty to say on the subject. But when Icon comes on asking folks to give feedback on a dodgy caddie, then i have every god dam right to have my say. Peace out.

There may be more important issues to fix, but we shouldn't object if WGT decides to work on the Caddie.

IMHO it's not much to do:

    - discard any selection of Chip and Pitch - have the shortest applicable full shot selected,

    - let putting scale selection on the Fringe be identical to the Green (the advanced version would ask for the appropriate Pitch on the Fringe).

But that's what Icon is asking us to do.

100ft putter choice from fringe is a great example but i would think most players are well used to that now.

To get the choice right on the green they need to program in elevation variance on the putt. If i have a 9ft putt it will give me the 20 ft scale regardless of green elevation, so if its downhill and i forget to change it, i'm flying past the hole but if it was uphill i may well have needed the 20ft scale. At the end of the day i just don't see this as a big problem, make your own selection.

As other people have said, probably better to look at some of the other problems before this.but appreciate the initial efforts

Something that happens to me quite regularly is when I'm about to take my shot I notice something like this.

I've selected a 3 iron, I'm clearly holding an iron, even the image beside shot type shows an iron but it says putter.  I've never hit a ball to see what the result is but maybe this is what's happening to you too.  Obviously not as extreme as getting a putter instead of a 3 iron but if you actually have a 5 iron in your hand it might explain a shot like that.

And I agree with Dazza.  Leave the caddy alone, he's pretty harmless in his own special way.  If you try to educate him he might become dangerous.

Who needs a caddy? I played  real golf for years without one( couldn't afford it) so I don't .need one now to select my clubs for me. This may be a good aid for newbies to get the hang of the game but once you've got beyond pro it's just a case of checking what the auto caddy has handed you. and if it's not what YOU want, change it.

    No feedback for me.

As many here, I think the auto caddie didn't need an upgrade. Distances and marks can handle by anyone here so it could be funny add a little tip on the clubs selection mode:

"Before shot look at your club, jackass!!!"

    Cheers,
    David.
