My caddie likes the odd bottle of mad dog 20/20 and has developed a crystal meth habit. It hasn't affected his abilities in the game, he was always as good as a man short, but it got me wondering. How can he afford this lifestyle, 10% of my winnings is only 89cents!!

He may be moonlighting as a crash test dummy I fear.

I think this could be a good article for the WGT National Enquirer,

    "How to sack your Caddy".

The more sick painful and perverse the better. (Perhaps an over 21's edition).

to me it would be a nightmare to fix all the problems with the caddie but that is a choice of WGT. Someone else post this and I think that is the easiest way to fix this. Let those that like the caddie use the caddie and those that don't, give them the ability to turn it off.

Simply put, I don't feel tweaking is really necessary. If you do, however, keep all the information while removing the suggestions. Just remove the pre-selection of club and shot type and add a button along the lines of "Display caddie's suggestion" for those who wish to see it. Use the current program's suggestion code for that.

This has been an excerise in futility. The support staff at WGT blames the player and is unwilling to concider this simple improvement.

I know that there are a lot of replies about iron and wood shots, but how about putting? I always have 17-19 foot downhill putts on championship greens, but the caddie yells 'hit it harder!!!" and gives me the 40-foot increment. The only lower increment for my putter is 20 feet, which should always be there for championship greens. I hate losing wasted shots-- I know it's my fault because I should've checked, but in these situations, it seems mind-bottling to think I would even have the 40-foot increment on my putter.

Me thinks that this demand goes too far. IMHO, it's part of the fun to make the decisions how to deal with wind and slope and such! Those who seek relief may find it in the various helper programs, entering the date there and getting advice.

I for one would be content to get clubs for "zero" conditions, putter with the next scale on the green and full shot of the next club in all other situations. Let the rest be up to me.

Just drop "putter from the fringe" and "chip/pitch in short game"!

There are lots of tee to green errors, but the worst errors are on the green and fringe.

Why a 10 foot putt from the fringe selects 50 feet or a 20 footer selects 100 feet is beyond me.

The main problem is that many times the right putter scale is selected and just when you trust it too much and drop your guard it will select 25 foot scale for a 14 foot 3 down on tournament greens and then you are in trouble.

There are too many green speeds and too many putters with different scales to be worth it.  You should just give up trying to accommodate them all and set every putt, fringe and green to whatever the shortest putt scale is.

That way players will learn that EVERY time they are on the green they have to select the right scale themselves.  Since they have to double check and correct the caddie now, that won't be that big of a deal.  This way at least if they forget to check they will be short and not across the green and no one will be able to blame the WGT caddie for the mistake.

The caddy is a cute thing, but it never enhances game play and only diminishes it when it gets it horribly wrong.

    Thx for listenting.

Therein lies the problem...in a thread started by a wgt mod asking for suggestions (nothing personal against Icon, he's an ace) no one at wgt is listening.

Many of us have asked for a simple toggle switch to turn the caddie on/off, but so far no response from wgt.  Apparently they just don't care anymore.
