Thanks for the link! I was in a poor mood all day because we didn't get what we wanted. This turned it around.
I had a nice round with the irons and wedges, doing most of my scoring with those. The ball stops quite well, even with long irons on champ greens, thanks to the receptive upslopes. I only had one approach get away, a backer-upper on 18. There isn't a no-margin-for-error Merion 5/6/15 on the course, at least not with these pins.
I only had two putts that broke more than a foot per 10 feet of length, which I suspect was incredibly lucky. The break on this putt on 6 started like I thought it would, then kicked away...there was no sign of that on the putt or chip grids.
The 620 yard 10th is reachable, even on a missed ding, with the stupidly good Big Bertha and a 14 tail.
A guess: the cut will be 56.
