    500y + Par 4. Called a challenge

Makes you think a little more playing the hole and the type of wind conditions you get. Wish there was more holes like it to be honest but not to many play that long as a par 4.

Making par is liking making a bird.

With the great clubs and balls that WGT has given us and the accuracy of them, a par 4 of 500 yards is not what it used to be.

A good drive with neutral wind can get out to 300 to 310 pretty easily.  That leaves you 190 to 200 in or a 4 to 5 iron on WGT.   Obviously in real golf we aren't as accurate, well I'm not averaging 300 yards per drive and at 90% accuracy.  I also rarely fly a 4 iron within 5 feet from 210 yards in real golf either, on WGT it happens fairly often.

I like a course like Pinehurst because in real golf, it gives you a good variety.  The Open is a little more severe, they eliminate a couple of par 5's and make them par 4's and lengthen everything they can.  However even in real golf, it is a challenge but here are birdie holes out there, I never have played the course and walked away thinking that it was not fair.  I can't say that about all the US Open courses that I have played in real golf.

    Par 4, par 5? Whatever.

If it helps just imagine the course is a par 71. A 63 is still a 63.

The best way to think of a golf course is to get it in the hole in as little strokes as possible. If you start thinking of 4 as a daunting par 4, you're gonna make bogey, whereas if you think of it as an easy par 5, you'll make a 4. Just play the course for what it is and try to get up and down from everywhere.

Of all the courses in Wgt.... Pinehurst would have to be the Easiest  off the Tee...  There is no trouble, just have to worry about Aim, at the moment is no drama.

The only thing you have to worry about is the Approach shots and where you try to place the the ball on the green.

With the Low scores you have to shoot....  You have to Restart your Game every time you don't make a Bird...  The top players might play the course a couple of times or they might restart the game 30 or more times until they get a score to make the cut.

For me I get Bored of restarting 30 times after the 1st hole.....lol

    Just have Fun Everybody :)

I used to think that but when you look at what it's going to take to get qualified, assuming 57, that's 13 under so there's 5 holes you don't have to birdie, just par. Then there's 1 or 2 eagle possibilites along with the occasional catch-lightning-in-a-bottle hole out from the fairway.

Don't give up on the first missed birdie, play until you get to the point where you have to birdie out to be in it. When that fails, restart or come back tomorrow.  :-)

That's true.   Back9 seems to be easier than the front.  So maybe hit the Front9 harder. If your lucky your might get a nice wind on the 4th for Bird,

Great course for Multi Player games.

I've only had two completed 18 hole rounds, the 2nd was a 62 with a couple of boges, so the 56 can be gettable.

Don't think 56, because you will start wondering how I'm going to shoot that.....   It's a Par70... Two 35's ....   If you think Par35 for each 9 then it's a bit easier trying to get that 56

    I wish I can practice what I preach.....lol

Really kinda disappointed on how easy the course is playing. For me Merion plays a lot harder for sure.

I don't do the restart thing. Always play the whole round. Last year took me 17 rounds to qualify for Merion.

This year three rounds. Two of which i played with the free lime green balls WGT gave us awhile back. Shot 60, 61 with the free balls...... then loaded up my regular balls and shot 56. If not for two putts left short dead center would have been 54.

The scores this year in the Open are going to be stupid. LOL Going to need 4 perfect rounds to even stay in shouting distance of the leaders. Gonna need something like 68 under to win.  :))
