fatdan:
try that with your irons...
If you aim 20 yds left of the fairway and land on the right side of the fairway 40 yds shorter than you could have, that is technically not a fade, at least not where I come from!
This is why I said you lose more distance here then a draw or fade irl (in real life) play. To make it work here, you always have to compensate by clubbing up to cover the distance lost. irl play, this isn't true.
A draw irl increases distance and a fade decreases it. Yes, wind and/or elevation has a effect that can change this statement, but 95% of the time, a player imparts one or the other to fit the shot for the desired results. The other 5% is either accidentally getting the opposite effect or hitting it straight.
Please consider I'm speaking from 45+ years of play (and a scratch at one point).
fatdan: Not to mention the fact that you can't fade or draw has been discussed at length in other threads, it is not programmed into the game...
Which is why I said WGT servers doesn't "recognize" the way I describe doing it as a real draw or fade when it is...just minus 20-40% distance and hoped for results are 50-50.
