I had a dream last night where I decided to try and give the shot some side spin and it worked!

Yea,  I dreamt about WGT LOL  so what!  ;-)

Nightmare really though, the ball was white.  LOL

There is no Draw and Fade in WGT there is however Slice and Hook.

You can use slice and hook to simulate draw and fade but it isn't draw and fade. The wind can help with this.

eg,  Imagine using the little red spin dot on the ball and move it to the left for some draw, miss the ding to the right for some slice and what have you got?

When you have the wind blowing moderately left and you adjust that spin dot to the left AND hook it, you're going to bend it like beckham.

Right now, its just a semi controlled hook and slice.

How cool would it be if that dot just didn't go up and down? Make it so you can put it anywhere on the ball.  After all, draws and fades happen for the spin you put on the ball. :-)

Yes...there is.  Move your target line far left and dinging far right (in the light blue area past the darker blue), one can produce a true fade.  Opposite works for a true draw.  The problem is that WGT servers aren't set up to properly "acknowledge" these shots, thus way more then irl, one loses distance doing so...and the outcome is severely compromised.

Try it in "Practice" mode...you'll see what I mean.  But be careful and give yourself plenty of fairway width and take note of the distance lost.  Don't want to lose any balls, now do we?

The only thing you don't see is the actual curve of the shot and that's a rendering issue. The beginning and end are all that counts and the game gets that part right.

    I fixed that for ya....

    try that with your irons...

If you aim 20 yds left of the fairway and land on the right side of the fairway 40 yds shorter than you could have, that is technically not a fade, at least not where I come from!

Not to mention the fact that you can't fade or draw has been discussed at length in other threads, it is not programmed into the game...

This is why I said you lose more distance here then a draw or fade irl (in real life) play.  To make it work here, you always have to compensate by clubbing up to cover the distance lost.  irl play, this isn't true.

A draw irl increases distance and a fade decreases it.  Yes, wind and/or elevation has a effect that can change this statement, but 95% of the time, a player imparts one or the other to fit the shot for the desired results.  The other 5% is either accidentally getting the opposite effect or hitting it straight.

Please consider I'm speaking from 45+ years of play (and a scratch at one point).

Which is why I said WGT servers doesn't "recognize" the way I describe doing it as a real draw or fade when it is...just minus 20-40% distance and hoped for results are 50-50.

I'd go as far as to say that I'd like to see fade/draw before a yellow Callaway.

Oh yes I did just say that. ;-)   But I understand that it may be difficult to add the fade/draw at the moment, so just flip the yellow switch from 0 to 1 please. :)
