    why am I not surprised that most of the complainers are the ones who have other issues with their games?

    Don't like the new rough, be sure to hit the fairway. There are some holes (like 16 Merion), where I even hit a much lower ball flight, giving up distance, just to ensure I end up in the fairway.

    WGT has even changed the deviation for missing the ding

    Says who?

    Sounds like you would rather invent conspiracy theories about the game rather than learning it.

    It's a burden but I do it gladly.

    Our opinions differ, fine, but if you are going to insult me, don't be droll.  It lessens us all.

    If playing out of the rough is suddenly such a change, concentrate and practice not hitting it in the rough.  The top players will see no change as they just don't hit it in the rough anyway.

    I admit I was wrong about this little change. I said when it happened the tears would dry after a week. Seems it's taking a little longer but we'll get there.

    I'm not perfect driving, but have been fair enough, but WGT has even changed the deviation for missing the ding so even that is a move against players like me who have bought drivers based on the clubs published performance.

    No they didn't. They simply reduced the amount of spin on shots from Rough over 30%. The ball will roll out more so adjust. It's not that big a deal.

    The painting thing went over my head. ;)

    I agree totally! WGT is a joke playing around with all of our money while we try playing for honest games.... they FIX nothing that NEEDS to be fixed first.... ADDITIONS they claim makes things more realistic; for themselves maybe or playing favorites it sounds like..... Why aren't the other things fixed first WGT....

    I waited 3 1/2 years missing one day of play for the mere fact hat I moved, to hear there is nothing they an do to Fix My accounts Problems, Email challenges, friends list, finishing rounds I get booted off the site after every last putt on ranked rounds!!!!!!  what kind of crap is that??? OH, you needed to change the rough? whattah joke I wished I never JOINED!!!!! or paid to play.....

      With all due respect CD- I just set up a practice round on B9 Oak with another CC member who has the same exact clubs and also plays the same level 61 Nike I play.  Seeing we had 15 shots a hole we both tried to put our balls in the same heavy rough positions around the greens. Speaking on Raidcall made communication simple. Hitting what should have been very close distances from similar positions, the results were astoundingly different. The only shot that had any sort of consistency, and that's stretching it, was a FBS punch. The pitches were a joke as far as comparable  roll out distances. One thing that seemed consistent is the pitches from 20/25 that we both used to add just 1 yd to distance and up.  Now that 20/25 seemed much more "sticky,'  and is playing much closer to the old 30/40 numbers where we both would add 2 to distance and up.  If the idea was realism not random results., they failed. If random was their goal, kudos, they finally got something right.

    IMO if anyone thinks this fake stab at realism in the name of more ball sales is an improvement, they just might want to try what we just did and see the amazing variation in results.

    Couple of things I see:

    1. At least withing I see the game play as consistent enough within reason, and perfectly adjustable to;

    2. In all honesty I see no change anywhere else in my game;

    3. To say to say it's the same for all and top players never find the rough, well all I can say is I hope the sun continues to shine bright on planet zog.  The one ONLY people totally (well 99.9999%) not affected by this are the digitally enhanced.  Maybe not noticed that was an issue before?...Good players may not find it much / play clever around the new set up but it's a shame that it really is not the same for all, and that includes WGT too.

    Overall IMO it enhances game play, but to say some illegals were not pleased with it for the wrong reasons, well enjoy the nice weather on planet zog too.  Probably not much difference in it score wise v the genuine players, and very seldom will it be different at all score wise because of this for good players, but a shame that part it is there at all.

    EDIT: - If WGT wanted real realism they would detune all ball attributes, but whether Mr. Nike would approve hmmm probably not, and also that might impact ball sales a real no no.  This was really done to make it easier for noobs, and to get them hooked if possible, and the rest is largely incidental score wise to any half decent player from what I see in my game, but sadly on earth it is also sometimes the difference when it should not be.  Tough one for WGT I do see that........

    I commented earlier that this would hurt the middle tier players more than the upper tier or beginners, so thans for confirming that thought.  WGT balls are about the most fake part of this game, but they will never give them up; they bring too much revenue.  I can't blame them for that.
