Just completed a very enjoyable match with Hollymax and Jimbean where Nickolijj and i took the game 3&2.
We played the match in two halfs, as Jim had to go home from work, so we completed 1-5 with Jim at work and 1-4 with Jim at home.
Brief story of the game -
First all birdies, Hollymax almost knocked the flag out.
Second was like watching the red arrows, doing their big split, but all converged on the green where Jim almost holed his third from 140 yards, halfed in par
Third was 4 birdies again where both Jared and Phil almost knocked the pin out again
Fourth was four attempts for birdies, none dropped
Fifth, both Phil and Jim hit the downslope and shot way on through, stopping at the very back edge of the green leaving 246 and 251 feet eagle putts, Jared and i both hung on the front bank, we chip to 5 and 3 feet, leaving the monster putts to come. Jim lines her up and gives her a rattle 251 feet later it runs over the hole and stops 9 feet away, almost a record breaking putt! Phil knocks his up 246 feet and gets it to an impressive 10 feet too, unfortunately both missed the birdie putts back. We go 1 up with birdies.
Sixth hole (first hole) both Phil and Jim hit approaches to 9 or 10 feet but unfortunately miss the birdie putts, we go 2 up
Seventh (2nd) Both Phil and Jim hit to 18 feet down the slope (new pin) both Jared and I hit to 4 ish feet and take it with birds 3&2.
Really enjoyable game, 3&2 is not reflective of how close it was it really did come down to the missed putts on six, as after that both Phil and jim had to press, and the new pin of the second hole is not the kind of place you want to be when you are hunting birdies to stay alive.
Very good standard of golf, and a pleasure to play both Phil and Jim for the first time, I am sure it won't be the last!
Cheers
