If teams are allowed to speak to each other in another language does that mean we are all allowed to talk to our partner about any particular shot?,If not then maybe it should be English Only in Chat,

Just so people know, this is matchplay, you are allowed to confer with your partner about a shot, club selection, the line of a putt etc etc.

I would suggest it is polite to all use the same language while playing, if there is something you wish to say to your playing partner that is private use skype, IM, MSN or even IRC or whatever is your preferred medium as opposed to switching languages.

    Cheers

There is nothing in the rules of golf that forbids playing partners to help each other, so IMO it should be allowed here too.

Infact pralaya and I from now on will speak strictly in swahili.

Kujisikia huru kuzungumza kwa lugha ya kiswahili, lakini tu kama kila mtu anaweza kuelewa unachosema, vinginevyo unaweza kufanya watu wanadhani wewe ni kuzungumza juu yao.

Translation from Swahili - Feel free to talk in swahili, but only if everyone is able to understand what you are saying, otherwise you could make people think you are talking about them.

I really don´t think there´s any problem with us talking in Spanish. Neither Barry nor Lou were upset by it, Lou was simply remembering one particular hole in which Villa and I spoke in spanish and, a few seconds later, I got a birdie and we won the hole. We said nothing illegal, just debating about how to hit a shot. As Monty said, if anyone wants to talk privately they can do so in mirc so anyone can do it, not only us.

In real life, you can go up to your partner and talk to him privately about whatever you like and in whichever language you like, and that´s how it´s always been on here in previous fourball tournaments.

See what I started ... LMAO .. I hope you all realize that   I never meant for that comment to cause a problem ... it was the funniest thing in the world ..... I laughed my butt off (and that takes a lot of laughing).    Heck all of the fun playing partners is talking about shot placement.   If it weren't for that .. you may as well play alone.

For those of you who enjoy discussing your shot selection .. your going to LOVE Alternate shot .... that's because you need to hit your ball where your PARTNER wants it ... not necessarily where you want to hit it.

Peace Seve / Villa ... it was great .... Next time I'll talk in Soprano Italian ...

Bada Bing .. Bada Boom ... Fuggedaboudid

I think all we were saying Seve, is lets try and keep the chat window in a single language, just out of politeness, if players wish to discuss shots in the chat window do so in english, if players wish to discuss shots privately use another means of communication such as msn messenger or mirc to do so, as opposed to switching language.

You see Seve you have another language to switch to, many don't, so while they only have the option to discuss in English, you would have the advantage of knowing what they were saying while keeping your own discussions secret.

So that is why I am encouraging any private chat to use another medium and keep the chat window clear for general chit chat, banter, and warm sportsmanship.

    Here's the card from Portsd\Priestess v lawman48\DougBieker

    Final score Portsd\Priestess win 3 & 2

Thanks for the game Pete and Doug, only a couple of missed short putts (1 caused by a bad meter skip) let us get the early advantage. Tess was in pretty awesome form though

    Cheers

Doug and myself just lost to Dan and Tess, and although we got well beat it was still a pleasure to play. Must admit that nerves got to me, and that in turn put to much pressure on my partner to have to get all is putts spot on....sorry Doug. I will improve.
