plim and coolswing win 1 up

great match played in a great spirit

1st plim was the only one to miss the birdie fest hole halved

2nd plim lips from 12 ft and lou mises a 6footer to win the hole barry has a great up and down to get the half

3rd cool an lou pepper the pin with great approaches and the hole is halved

4th barry finds trouble of the tee while cool finds the bunker on his approach. lou and plim find the green with plim closest and he holes the 24footer for birdie and the hole plim and cool go 1 up

5th a chance for plim and cool to go 2up but a great putt from barry gets a half

6th barry puts a great approach in to 6 with cool a few feet further away both hole the puts hole havled

7th lou wins the hole with the only birdie thanks to a great approach match back to A/S

8th everybody finds the green with reasonable birdie putts  cool holes a great swing putt while everybody esle misses out plim and vic 1up

9th both barry and lou put pressure on cool's approach but he holds his nerve to sink a 7footer to havle the hole and win the match

result plim and vic win 1up

Gladstonescrewer/Clarkboson vs bluescouse/Infinito completed our first match today.  The match went into extra holes as the first round ended all square.  Sudden death on the first extra hole ended with Infinito making a birdie and the remaining players making par.

Blue made some excellent shots in the regular best ball to end the round AS.  Great play by Gladstone and Clark.

    Infinito/Blue win first match.

Ah, sorry - only just spotted this thread.

The guys are absolutely right. This was an absolutely brilliant match, one of the best I've ever been involved in. The skill level, scoring consistency, and best of all the friendly way it was conducted, made it a pleasure for us all.

It was almost midnight by the time we got finished, which is practically unheard of for me on a worknight, but I was buzzing afterwards, and couldn't sleep for ages!

Thanks to Shade for dragging me over the line, and to Gladstone and Clarke for making it such a great game.

    Sean

OK Dougie and I just played around for 9 holes and after 50 minutes past the scheduled time for our match, neither of the other players showed.

Look guys, if a match is scheduled and you can't be there at least have the common respect to let the others know. We all have time constraints, this is just wasting my time here.

Sorry for the rant, but not showing up is just unacceptable in my view.

Sorry this has happened, both playing partners not showing is a bit odd.

Both Martin and Cate are very regular players, hopefully everything is ok with both.

    Cheers
