But a quick look at this course and it is way to short in length, as are many municipal and private clubs. They would simply get obliterated scoring wise on WGT.

yea the one I posted the link for would'nt be such a good one to put on the map   actually there's no sand traps and the biggest hazzard is a corn field off the 2nd tee if ya shank it to the left.  we pay for around about $9  a round (18 if you go around twice)+ about another $9 for a cart rental. and its only 12 miles from where we live   (we are out in the sticks)

and actually a couple weeks ago they waived the green fee because the seasons coming to an end  (Im in Minnesota)

I guess the point i was trying to make is a lot of courses that would be challenging if put on here are out there, just have to look ( or maybe with customer suggestions <<<HINT)

    :)

I hear you....the reference I made to courses wanting to be included on WGT is from the 2012 Forbes Article.  It is adding two to three new ones per year, and there’s a waiting list of 14 courses from countries such as Japan, Korea, Sweden and Brazil that want to be incorporated into the game.

It comes down to cost vs profitability, and with what I assume are diminishing players and therefore income. I think we will get one course per year, anything more is a bonus (and I exclude best of and par 3 courses).

A lot has changed since that article, but unless someone is extremely benevolent and bank rolls additional course, I cannot see courses outside of the US coming, and even local courses becoming a reality.

We can ask and hint, but do not hold your breath.

Wow - I don't remember seeing that article before, though I'm sure it was posted in the forums somewhere & I missed it.

Kind of sad to read it now and see all the missed opportunities: the Tru-golf partnership was a dud, the sponsorships like Dove and Ketel One have dried up, relationships with R&A and PGA fizzled (if it wasn't for the USGA, I think we'd get no more new courses), I'm sure that waiting list of courses is now empty. And the big dreams of expanding to other sports have probably died.

You're right in highlighting the fundamental failure - the ability to keep the target audience coming back, playing multi-player games and spending money here. Being so tied in to Flash Player (which made sense in 2007) definitely isn't helping now. Who knows what will happen next, but it's likely to be a continually diminishing product, which will probably drive down revenues more.

The ironic thing is that they really did beat Tiger Woods (at least TW online). But they appear to have beat themselves as well...

Yes, I take no credit for finding it.....I think the great Andyson originally conjured it up....but in so many ways it makes better reading now....but things are always easier with hindsight.

As for course development, who knows what is ahead.....but I do not have my hopes set too high.

My concern is what is the future of PC based WGT...development has been in tablet/android and as a result bugs galore have appeared. I for one will not play on a tablet or my phone (I could but refuse too) so I would be lost as a customer, along with many I would guess.

MS thought the world could be manipulated touch screen with the debacle that was windows 8.  An over simplification, but long and short is windows 10 for free a few years later.

Certainly looks that way.....IMO they seriously need to to turn it around or risk the baby going out with the bath water.  They have the data though for where the revenue streams are, or is that wishful guesswork :)

I am relieved if the green dots work after a downtime.  They have certainly managed expectations to an incredibly low level.

Of course they have access to that data....but remember data/statistics can be manipulated - all those thousands of people writing in about the clashes......well was one person but they read the letter thousands of times....

LOL aint that the truth! As end users we jump through hoops just to play the game, but as the company promises little, we in turn are accepting. An odd concept.

Because they haven't released Pebble Beach for Stroke play.

I suspect Pebble Beach and WGT altered their agreement allowing Pebble Beach for Stroke play here on WGT.
