    Well said dedbunny.

I've posted recently that when my current supply of credits are gone, that is it for me.  No more $ will flow from me to WGT.

Sorry WGT, but the game has too many bugs to really enjoy.  If not for friends chatting on Skype and playing this game, I'd be gone anyway.  Will have to get used to the unlimited balls soon.

I agree too dedbunny, well said. The points you make do make sense.

The game is such a great golf simulation. There's nowhere else to go to find the same "virtual golf experience" as WGT...as far as I know. And they know it.

    dedBuNNy:

It astounds me that people still come in the forums to complain.

Anyone who plays the game for more than a couple of months should be able to figure out what is going and the culture of WGT.

If you're going to play here, expect exactly what's going on and happening to you.The game isn't broken, it's working exactly the way WGT wants it to.

Here's something you should think about - If you are playing this game, are constantly frustrated and annoyed after spending your own money on clubs and balls in order to compete and you still can't, but you keep doing it over and over anyway?

You have a classic case of addictive behavioral disorder. You do realize that's the heart of WGT's business model, right?

You could have a point if it the problems we are experiencing was there by design but I seriously doubt that  anyone search to find profit in breaking functional code. Because that is what this is about. Sure, there has always been bugs, there has always been disconnects, but it has gotten worse. Do you think that is deliberate? I think it is due to incompetence and lack of caring. Like the new bug where your game crash if you go to the the player profiles to check the equipment of those you play with (yes, many are curious). It has not been there before but it is a very obvious and easily reproducible bug that would have been squashed hours after being discovered by any company who gave a damn.  WGT left it for weeks and I don't know if they have fixed yet since I hardly ever play anymore, tired of 75% of the games ends in disconnects.

It does not work the way WGT want it to, but they could not care less.

That's the thing, 10 million registered players and a "customer care center" dimensioned for 127 registered players and a development team that only manages to change stuff in the shop and add someone shouting "That was a huge drive" when you have a bit of tail wind.

Imagine the potential value of having 10 million users and compare that to how the game is evolving. The new courses for instance, they have if anything less cameras than the first ones in spite of the new technology available (drones) that would normally translate into better quality. We have still to explore the greens by trial and error for instance. What kind of simulation is that?

the swing meter is somewhat better than before ,  however I noticed that as soon as I went above level 60 , the courses were somewhat longer and that to achieve par or subpar one needs to purchase (donate) money  for clubs that  hit the FREE  golf balls further than the standard free clubs. Each player then makes his own choice over whether to play this game for fun (when one has nothing else better to do) or upgrade his equipment through purchasing or through clicking on the adverts in order to gain credits.  In my modest opinion this game does not simulate 100% what happens on a real golf course and I dont think it was ever the intention of Messers Nelson and Cheng to do so.

10 million registered players includes every player who ever signed up over the last 8 1/2 years. Many played a hole or two (or a round or two) and left. The vast majority of those 10 million have been inactive for years and many more sign up and leave daily. WGT lives on the backs of new signups who do stick around for a while and on advertising revenue. They are not interested in retaining long-term customers; that would require effort along with actually engaging the customers with some honesty and integrity.

When the revenue stream slows management will simply move on to the next venture.

I think they already did, that is the problem.

The excellent coders who programmed this will be long gone, as is the management oversight who understood what makes it a success.

I'm fairly sure there are no more active customers here now than there were 3 years ago .For everyone that joins, someone has had enough , a departure hastened by the monumental bug fest that stops people having an enjoyable game with each other.

They would have many more users if they added absolutely nothing to the game once they have it stable tbh.

I mean , a stable platform and some decent mechanisms ( which would be just database stuff rather than touching game dynamics etc) for a cc to compete against another cc & usage would increase instantly.
But instead we get gimics .

No understanding of what makes this a great game ( when it works )

And they claim 40,000 country clubs

This is the only reason WGT is still around. Being able to play with other people, that 'community' from the CC, even just in chat, you're still talking to other people. If that aspect goes away or breaks, that'll be the end of this game.

While I don't think WGT are actively breaking the game, they simply don't really care to fix it. That would require massive capital and why bother? From a business standpoint it makes sense and most people are quite willing to b!tch and scream all the while still trying over and over to get in AS rounds, even when it ends in players throwing themselves on the floor in frustration - People still keep playing.

I would be willing to bet they're already onto something else, would not surprise me to find out it's an updated version of this game.
