The venom being spewed here by a small group of 300, in a pool of multiple thousands of players is pathetic. This is a good, fun game - both on mobile and PC, but there's very little appreciation around here for what WGT has accomplished since 2006. It's one complaint after another endlessly on these forums, year after year after year. Belittling the admins, tech support and WGT is a childish way to go about effecting any changes you seek about this issue or any in the future.

Dude...they create a forum for members to discuss things.  One being "issues".  This "bright flash" thing is a major issue.

Do you like driving down the highway at 70mph and getting hit by sun glare?  No...and that happens only occasionally.  To get belted with it repeatedly every 20 seconds would be mind-numbing, eh?

Do professional and recreational golfers get "brightly flashed" directly in their eyes after every shot?  If they did the real game of golf would rarely be played.

I think what happened is some TopGolf Driving Range developer figured this would be a great addition as they are all about arcade antics at their establishments.  But at the TopGolf Driving Range you are far away from the bright lights and wizardry.  On the game you are inches from the screen.  (Funny how the mobile version of the game didn't get updated with the flashes...just the desktop version).

Now...if the TopGolf CEO and executive team played the game for 5 minutes on the desktop version I guarantee the "bright flashes" would be removed ASAP and the guys who programmed it in, without testing it to any true extent, would be having some uncomfortable meetings.  I personally think heads should roll.

The admins on here are the direct connection to the WGT members.  We should voice our opinions here and they should take our views back to corporate.

This desktop version of the game is unplayable now (because of the bright flashes).  To have to look away and not watch where a ball lands is CRAZY.

Creating multiple threads in several sub-forums isn't productive. Write support at the link below, state your case and move on.

Actually, that's incorrect. It is very productive. And the reason is that it will motivate others to respond and post. If one were to take the approach that you suggest and rely on individuals to simply respond privately, very few will take the time to do so. And the reason is fairly straightforward.

If people do not see others responding negatively or are not aware that others also hold a negative opinion, they will believe themselves to be in the minority and will be less likely to speak up. It's a situation similar to Noelle-Neumann's "spiral of silence" thesis.

But when people see multiple threads on the same topic with the same general sentiment, they are more likely to speak up because they see their view is widely shared by those who take the time to comment. That is productive.

And as an aside, this is exactly how adults respond. They voice their concerns in the proper forums that have been created for them to do so. No one is literally or metaphorically "storming the Bastille." They are voicing their discontent so that their concerns will be heard and possibly addressed.

    Inconsistent wind?  Check.

    Inconsistent rough?  Check.

    Crashes?  Check.

Hey!  I know!  Let's make the graphics such as "On The Fairway" and "Birdie" and so on EXPLODE off the screen because, you know, that's really what people want!  Something like the acid flashbacks they used to have in 1978!  And, as a bonus, headaches!

    Jeez Louise...

Our QA Department test all products prior to releasing new updates, if you are not happy feel free to send the QA department an email and when we SEE it we will respond promptly.

My guess is it affects a small, but very vocal majority of the usual forum cowboys who've chosen to gang up on WGT on an issue they think they can win by screaming like a bunch of petulant children.

The thing is, there will be those who will be very badly effected by this, maybe not a lot but one is too many.  Flashing lights can and do have serious repercussions for some people and for WGT to do this without any option to switch it off is wrong.

I don't have any issue with it but I have no problem with flashing lights and don't play for long enough for it to get annoying.  I can see how for some it is totally unacceptable though.  They can add whatever they like, make fireworks explode all over your screen when you make an eagle for all I care but they should also make it optional.

And I object to programmers time being wasted on this when there are far more important and very basic things to sort out.

Metaphorically, it does have the feeling of "rearranging the deck chairs."

Roo, I played this game years ago, then came back. And the game is leaps and bounds more playable than it used to be.

Really ? On what planet ? I've been here since 2011 and have watched almost every " upgrade " add features no one wanted or asked for, while game errors and connection issues of every kind  have gone unaddressed. The reliability and playability of this game has steadily declined since I joined, and I'm sure the majority of players would agree. Multi player games are a total crapshoot as to whether you can even finish now. I'm also sure the community as a whole would much rather see these problems dealt with rather than new flashy graphics added. Sorry, but, I fail to see how anyone could back up that statement.

    Doc :)

Well said Doc, I too have been here since 2011 and watched this game get worse as the years go by. My last alt shot and match play games ended when i was a legend due to the problems within and we have complained for almost 2 years now and new issues have come up since then. In all the years i have played this game i can still count on 1 hand how many days i haven't missed playing at least 1 game each day, now i only due ranked and ctth games.

the new flash graphics will cause me to not to play even more now. I have been welding over 2 decades and my eyes are sensitive to bright lights, the flash makes it worse. My game play is at night after work 12-4 am so the 1st time i saw that bright text i was like WTF thought i was still at work and someone just struck an arc, on top of that my right eye is flash burnt which mean no games for me. Might try a ctth just so in don't miss my login bonus.

I'll stand in the minority with ya VegasWade. The new graphics haven't bothered me at all.

Well, if you're truly in the minority, then that would suggest the new graphics are problematic, yes?

And as one who only plays the game on an iPad, I want to say:

+1 bro. Much ado about something that is essentially trivial.
