I joined SEL after about 3 days of starting WGT, at first there was a hell of a lot to take in, but after about 3 months of playing and being a member, my game has improved ten fold, and getting to know the club and their comps is nearly second nature now.

I have seen lots come, complain (usually wind and green speeds) and leave. It's definately not for everyone, I play exclusively on a kindle with a crack in the screen, which obviously does not help my game any, so I still have the occasional abysmal rounds, had a couple today in county comps.

Merion, championship greens, hard pins, 5 putted 1 hole, 4 putted 2 with a chip in between (putted off the green), 1 putt was a little short, stopped, rolled back, past me and 10ft further away than when I started, still scratching my head at that one.

Then the very next comp (I tend to rattle them off, one after the other) high winds but slow green speeds, after just being on championship greens, going to slow messes with your head.

Excellent club, lots of work goes into it, I havnt been a member anywhere else, but I think I would be hard pushed to find a better one.

    TL/DR:

If you want it easy to keep your average down and move up tiers, then look elsewhere

If you want one hell of a challenge, think dark souls on acid, then come along and join, it will be a struggle, but it will make you a better player, it has me, even though im still not great, im a lot better than when I started, and learning new things every day.

"Since joining sel last month I'm enjoying the variety of competitions which are much

more challenging than at my previous club, also with many more members participating.

Hats off to all the organizers running a great club.

    cheers John"

The quote above is taken from our website, words from Jgr123. The participating part you can see for your self below.....with around 80 entrants.

    League

    League

    Another

All our tournaments are like that above, this club is for folk who want to play the exciting club comps, as well as any other WGT events they wish. Some clubs just boost numbers with members but those members are simply that.......a number, but not here.

    Friendly, fun and active.

Apply to join, if Pro or above then i will send you our website and in you come.

    This year we have had great fun active members from 3 major clubs merge in with us ;

    English Lakes

The club disbanded and the owner and a dozen of his officers and members came and joined SEL.

    Legends of the World

The owner , directors and over a dozen members came and joined SEL. The club is still going under new ownership.

    Derbyshire Contry Club

Some senior active members left and came to SEL. That great club is still ongoing.

Along with the above we have had other top active folk leave clubs in search of something new, and they have never looked back. They of course left their previous clubs in good terms, its just a change of scenery was needed.

So i ask, if any owners are at the point of folding their clubs through inactivity or just simply they have no time to run their club, then you to can come and join us, and bring your friends along.

That statement in bold i know all about. I owned a club around a year and a half ago, but found myself overworked so looked no further than SEL . Some of my friends and members came with me and we have never looked back.

Yes, im now classified as owner but the burden of running this fantastic club does not lie on my shoulders, as we have a fantastic bunch of members who all run and organise various aspects within the club.

Contact me to discuss if wish, we do not crave high membership, but if an owner is ready to offload a club, then why not all stay together under the SEL umberella.

Want to join an active club?  Look no further.

Here's a good example.  THIS TOURNAMENT was set yesterday to run for 7 days.  There have already been 57 entrants and 55 scores posted.  Keep in mind that we only have 133 members in total.  Not bad eh?

Have a look at other CC's comp leaderboards, you'll be hard pushed to find anywhere more active than SEL.

THIS is the sort of activity you can expect at SEL.

100 scores entered for one tournament, that's 2 full pages of leadersboards.  Not bad for a club with just 134 members.

Pop by and see what all the fuss is about.

Register here for website, once accepted then WGT invite follows asap.

Some great changes have taken place in the club recently. We are in the middle of our own Ryder Cup where team UK/IRE and team Rest of the World are battling it out for the SEL RYDER CUP.

    24 members in each team playing some great events, battling for points in these comps;

Offline survivor : 4 rounds with 25 % cut each round.

Offline Blind Pairs : 18 hole round where 2 team mates scores are added together.

Alt shot : Great pairs comp, just like the real thing

4 ball better ball : Matchplay....Go out in pairs, best score from each is used.

    Singles : The final challenge......12 v 12.........very tasty ;-)

Yeah.............we run some top events here .

So glad I found this great cc, was made welcome straight from the start they have their own website, forum and shoutbox that are all packed with information about everything that is going on. The comps they put on are very well organised even for people like me who only have access to the mobile version of the game

Bubbs boy and his team do a great job and must work tirelessly to keep the club running the way it does

So if you like a friendly well organised club with lots of banter look no further than sel.

Cheers Andy mate, much appreciated. You have fitted in great here with your contributions.

That from an ex member of a club where their owner lambasted me every oppurtunity he had,  so really means a lot, cheers
