Does your CC have a tournament running that started before Oakmont was pulled?  That is the only way any Oakmont holes would still be around.   Our CC also had a custom course with some Oakmont holes included.  Those holes are now gone, and the course will have to be edited before playing another round on it.

Funny, we started a tourney with Oaky #18 in it 2 days ago. Works normally. Plus, there's always the back door, if you want to play the whole course. But can be only played in single stroke play. It was a fantastic MP course, no chance of that any more.

Seems the best results might be achieved by sending personal, politely worded letters, by snail mail, to:

    Oakmont Country Club

    1233 Hulton Rd.

    Oakmont, PA 15139

Describe your heartfelt reasons why you think the course should be put back up on WGT, how having the course available for ordinary mortals to play online is good for Oakmont and good for the game of golf, serves the ideals of the golfing community. Etc.

    - Zag

I believe this to be a real nice idea. I promise to personally send a very well thought out letter sent to those that read oakmonts letters (hopefully they are not sent straight to the bin)

I would urge anyone that feels as strongly as I to follow suite

Thanks zag for the input, that's what I'm f'n talking about =D

I don't know what's up now Jure.  We had a Custom Course, with 2 of Oakmont's holes included, and when the course was pulled, I checked and those holes disappeared.  The course will have to be edited before its used again.

By any chance was that a multi-round tourney on different courses that started before Oakmont was pulled?  I'm just grasping at straws at this point.

I'll play you on any course and beat you by at least 2 shots without even trying.

Erm, just checking if you understand, that there are other courses in this game than Kia F9 and St. Andrews. And that match play doesn't come in unlimited mode, nor from the easy tees?

if you play AB 100 times, you'll lose 99 of them. Cause he's bound to get 1 blue screen disconnect ;-)

I would also beat you, but only 10/10 times, cause I don't get disconnected and playing 100 rounds would bore me to death.

4000 cr MPC, any time, will even play your favourite (unlimited, god knows from what tees) Kia, would love to watch you putt 13 speed greens ;-) Just be careful, I go over 60 on that course once a year and have already filled this year's quota ;-)

Wanna put your money where your a$ is?

Edit: P.S.: But since chihuahuas always bark at bigger dogs IRL, knock yourself out ;-)

Uhoh, somebody pi$$ed in Jure's cornflakes. Not a good idea!

Hey Jure, if you play him get him on our teamspeak so I can hear him scream while you kick his a$$.

Had a love hate relationship with Oakmont. It drove me crazy. Which only made me want to play it more. Just when I started figuring it out WGT mucks it up.

I don't know what WGT did to upset the folks at Oakmont but I'm willing to bet they had good reason to remove their course.

I can see it now. Someone from Oakmont calls WGT and what do they get?

    UNEXPECTED ERROR.

    SORRY FOR THE INCONVIENCE

Bottom line - Oakmont was a course that would challenge the best.

Losing Oakmont for whatever reason, is a big blow. I have not played Erin Hills and it will probably be a few weeks before I do.......but gaining one course and losing another (especially Oak) is a step backwards IMO.

If as Icon says, (and forgive me that I have not searched threads) this is due to the contract expiring and not due to a breach of contract, then WGT would have known well in advance this was terminating and players should have been forewarned.

This sums up the lack of credible communication between the company and the players......and is my main reason for my hiatus.

    Well done WGT....another own goal.

Exactly not sure how I missed this post al

If the contract simply ended. Why did we not get any kind of warning? They would have known for awhile.

Precisely why I won't be playing anymore after vuso. Completely lost interest in game after how they handled debacle

Also, wanted to thank you for your support about the meter thing. The respect is mutual

AgentBrown - In the thread at http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/464658.aspx Icon made the following announcement:

    :Hi,

Our agreement with the course has ended, so it’s no longer playable on WGT.

    -WGTicon"

I haven't seen anything that specifically says the contract expired. It may well have ended because Oakmont simply didn't want to be associated with this game and it just as well may have been a breach of contract by one party or the other. Usually contracts are written with an allowance for a party to terminate a contract with a 30 day written notice but maybe this one wasn't.

The odds are high that we will never know why the contract was terminated and, if it was Oakmont's decision, how much notice WGT had.

Now slow down and read carefully

That's exactly what we are saying. If wgt had known they should have told us sooner. Not doing so would lead one to believe it wasn't simply the contract expiring.. If not well it truly is poor poor customer relations. They still could have issued a better statement with an apology even if they had little notice. The way the news was dealt to us was basically "course is gone you can't play it anymore and we don't give two shts about it either because we are just here to make money, bye, oh here's a new classy avatar to make more money off you"

You have shown true class wgt. At least we can buy classy avatar so we can be just like you!
