These green are not the normal Legend tournament green speed.  Putts that I hit to go 40 feet stop 3 feet short, it is more like the Tour Master version of the tournament green speed.  I don't know which level you data is collected on but I have been playing some alt shot which all are played at my green speed and it is very different.

Played one round and scored 70/71 - can't rmember. Not a tricky course if you keep it straight. Easy enough greens. Still, probably won't waste too much time trying to shoot a 59 for now.

I was going to guess 59. Low wind, slower tournament greens, it could be very low.

Interested in your comment re the slower Tournament Greens ????? I am not seeing that at all !!  I am using my standard Tournament green putting data I have collected over time, as I use on all greens at Tournament speed - and to be honest my data is pretty well right on the money.

So ....... the green speeds look pretty standard for tournament greens.

    Cheers

    Doug

Doug for me the green speeds are between very fast and tournament. Maybe 5% slower than the tournament speeds I am used to.

Agree. There's no question these aren't true Legend speed. AS rounds back that up. I think they're just creating a really big difference from what the Championship speeds will be.

WGT would not want to limit rounds for revenue reasons. The idea that you can play hundreds of rounds to qualify is absurd in a golf real world.  I would settle for unlimited practice but limited qualifying rounds. That would be closer to the real game.

Couldn't agree more - I'd have gone for a multi-round format, say 4 rounds over 2 weeks. It would surely have been more realistic and provided a more sensible cut line. Maybe WGT will respond and change things up for the Open.

so lets see limit the amount of rounds you can play to qualify....................hmmmmmmmmmmm

why not just let the open be for legends and tour masters then.................do not think this helps wgt's revenue line

also if you make it isnt it easier when you know a large part of the finalists are screwed on the high winds and ice like greens................

btw think its gonna be 60/61 cut

It definitely is not legend speed, a very unique course. My first impression was the back was easier than the front. After making the first cut at 63 I knew that would not stick. I just finished playing another round and scored -7 on the front and -3 on the back with a stupid bogey (got meterized). I still think the back is not that hard though.

Imagine how many sleeves of Callies wgt is selling while ppl try to qualify for this tourney..?

Heck, how much does a years membership to the PGA cost anyway?
