    zagraniczniak:

Has anyone - by the way - tried to roll their drive across that little footbridge that makes such a fetching target on the 14th?

No, I'm too scared to try...lol. Come close to making that creek (whatever it is) once, now I lay up most of the time.

Does anybody know how to hit outa 90% Heavy Weeds?, without the ball going a few feet. I think getting into that rubbish is as good as a lost ball...lol

    Cheers

Drove into the 80/90% yesterday at Oakmont. Had to chuckle - didn't realize there were any weeds that thick where you could still find the ball. Hit a full wedge out sideways to the nearest spot on the fairway. Just accept that you have effectively lost a stroke. No chance for any fancy miracle shots.

"Lost one on the 14th, out of bounds along the right side."

Thirty minutes after reading that, I did the exact same thing. I'm getting really tired of losing my Callaways.

    Why does the caddie suggest a driver on the 239-yard par-3 3rd when I carry a 240-yard 3-wood?

I had to add a memo IN BOLD PRINT to my course notes to change the default club each time I play the hole.

LOL. Sounds like Bollox at BPB#3. I think it has to do with how many yards are between the hole and your closest club plus something like 5-10 yards. Either that or it doesn't know what clubs you have. Easiest thing to do is not trust the caddie or add a memo in bold print to your course notes.  ;-)

just like the irons.....wgt will select within 5yds for you....once it is 5yds or more it gives you the next club. So for example if the hole was 235yds it would give you the 3 wood.....but 236 and up it is going to give you driver.

FWIW, the pot bunker to the right of the 18th green, and the slope to the left of the hole, are each whores. That is all I have to say about that.

Sorry if this has been answered before but i was looking to play a practice round on St Georges to see how i stack up before entering the qualifiers but i can't seem to find a way of doing it.

Is it possible to set up a practice 18 rounder or is it just me being a newb.
