I understand that wgt, is doing all they can to up the profits, to a maximum level.  But now with Titleist clubs, high rated balls, all being available at level 0, wouldn't this encourage restarts, and more multi accounts?  I looked at the new equipment, and was wishing that it was available to me on the first day I started.  Looks like the new ball, clubs etc, could carry you thru at least tour master, rather quickly. I'm curious how the lower tiers are going to fair out in the credit tourneys? Will this be a game changer for the lower tiers?

They will buy earlier, spend more, rise quickly, then have to spend even more again. Coffers changer more than anything.

I'm also wondering how, ping, Taylor made,  and Callaway, feel now that Titleist is available from day 1, alot earlier than their items.

Well, if higher spec Titleist clubs do not eventually arrive, then those other companies will feel pretty good because the current Titleist clubs will only take the lower tiers so far, and quickly, so they should soon see a spike in sales.

I'm glad they didn't have all of the new gear thats in the Pro Shop now when I started.

I probably would have spent more money than I already have.

I caught the ' gotta have that ' fever. Now I just play to have fun.

OMG, I could not imagine being a newbie having all these choices.

I can see them now. Sitting there rolling dice to pick what they they're going to buy next.

When I started I made a conscious decision not to put any money into the game. Starter equipment lasted while I learned the game and earned "free" credits. As I built up a bank and learned how the game played I was able to discern what equipment would make a significant impact on play.

Now with this upgraded equipment available to absolute beginners the company has done them an injustice in my view. Perhaps these new players will view the new Titleist putter as the magic wand to transport them to the promised land. We all know this is not true because we have all been down this particular road. There is no magic in golf because only practice and hard work gets someone to the top of this game.

What might happen, in fact, is that the new players who spend money early on will become disillusioned with the game because their investment in equipment does not give an immediate return.  I can see a number of drop outs or reluctant buyers because the cost measured against the return is too great for them.

In real golf, no matter the equipment, learning to swing the club properly comes first. Hopefully the new players coming to this site will  have that same mindset. Otherwise they will face a lot of frustration the first few weeks.

For starters, the irons are Med/High flight and unless you pair them with a high spin ball-for which you will pay more-you won't be darting greens any time soon. They're fun for playing a run and gun game-something I did getting to TM-but High lofted clubs are what you really score with.

IMO, WGT is capitalizing on the Titleist brand, looking for those that are "brand" golfers. You know, like the guy IRL that shoots 100+ but still hits a ProV1 because it's Titleist and the pros use it.

These irons aren't going to make golfers out of players that buy them just because they're Titleists.

So you're saying that the Titleist irons aren't any better than the starter clubs, for newbies?
