I just use a ruler on my meter, calculate the % and hit the ball. That doesn't sound too complicated to me.Sometimes the simplest application is the easiest to manufacture. It seems futile to over complicate a singular activity. My humble opinion. with muscle memory and this application,I find it easier to adjust to WGT 'surprises'.Happy hitting

So Wood: if you dont have something constructive to add

I think you misconstrued his post. He only said that last line. The paragraph was quoted from an earlier post by eurantia.

    dacrash:

100's of players use the avatar movement style of play and WGT knows that.  I believe WGT had to make changes to be able to offer more clubs.  You would assume that the new clubs will be better than the older clubs and many players will purchase them.  In other words, WGT is trying to make more money.

The avatar movement style of players purchased clubs based on the number of movements the avatar has, just like the putter.  Which by the way was not changed because there are enough empty dots to allow for clubs to become even more precise.

Had to, had to quote this as it really sums up a lot of misconceptions out there. All irons, all wedges, from the starters to the burners and clevelands, All have the same number avatar movements. This will continue to be true. Any new clubs they might sell will not  have additional avatar movments.

They made the change to make the game less graphic intensive, not to sell more clubs. To see it as such is just paranoia.

The putters are designed to have different meter lengths. It is the meter lengths themselves that determine the number of movements. The 30 foot scale of the rossa has the same movements as the 30 foot scale as the starter. Again, avatar movements having nothing whatso ever to do with a clubs performance.

uggh.. hopefully this is last time i feel compelled to speak on this issue.

Naive. All companies want to sell you more.

And you can think what you want. Technically maybe the clubs have not changed, but realistically the precision has been cut in half. I only know that I have to recalculate my shots and then guess because the avatar movements are farther apart.

Again, I will repeat. I don’t have a problem with the changes, I have a problem with COMMUNICATION.

Wait for them to change the length of the meter to speed up the game without notifying players, then see how you feel.

I played a couple of test holes and can say the clubs haven't changed.  What has changed is the swing animations.  A full swing used to have an avatar move every 5% of the meter.  That's no longer true as said above.  However, if you used a ruler, tape on the screen or an overlay to indicate per cent of power you're OK.  A choke down to 95% still gives a dependable distance.  If you depended on avatar moves you're affected.

Agree Andy....no change if one uses the percent of meter method rather than the avatar movement method...whoever heard of choking down via avatar movements irl anyway....hehe!

This I would take issue with since THAT is how I judge distance control. Never used avatar movements.

The same ones that have the tape with marks down the shaft of their clubs to see how far to choke.  :-D

Wouldn't it be more constructive if we were to address the original purpose of this thread which was to determine if avatar movements have in fact changed, wgt's reply as to their reasons for the change and our suggestions?

    .Obviusly they have been changed.

    Wgt's response was,

    WGTadmin:

Based on your feedback, as our valued WGT players, we’ve been looking for various ways to help speed-up the game, and one of the areas we’ve identified is the time it takes to download and process avatar swinging. In last night’s update, we reduced some frames in avatar animation, which has significantly reduced the size of avatar download and improved loading times, especially during multi-player matches where this affects most players. This change has no effect on the power of the swing or the distance which the ball will travel. However, some experienced players may notice there are a few less frames in the swing.

Please let us know your experience with the new avatars and any suggestions are deeply appreciated!

    Thanks!

No where here has anyone mentioned whether or not they have noticed a faster or slower page loading time and input is needed from players ( that do play multiplayer games) on their experiences since the change?

As I player RG's and Kaiwah exclusively (My choice!) and have never suffered badly with loading times or swing meter issues, I am not in a good position to judge, but as an avatar movement user, I would like to see a change bringing back at least the last 3 or 4 movements as they were.

We know wgt are watching this thread!

    Lets keep replies constructive:)

Are pages loading faster in multiplayer?

    Any improvements in meter stuttering?

    Suggestions for improvement?
