    SA 9.. I kid I kid..

I have probably pared BP15 more than 9OAK but for some reason I still think 9 OAK is harder.  Perhaps it is because all the greens can be challenging on OAK while no matter where you are on the green at most of the other BP holes, you are in a lot better shape.

If you play past the left pin on BPB 15, it will catch the hill and roll back down to the hole leaving a reasonable chance at birdie.  On Oak 9, I have no idea how to give myself even a chance at birdie, short of chipping it in from the bunker or from off the green left.  At the legend level, however, I would vote for 17 at SA, playing at over 500 YDS as equally difficult to Oak 9.  C

To me, #9 Oak is by far the toughest.

With Burner 2.0's Callaway balls, and the front pin, BPB 15 becomes a hole with a good sniff of birdie, and a big chance of par. Bethpage becomes a much easier course with some good tools.

Nothing like St A's 17 at 515 yards, back pin (but even front pin is tough), with a 31mph headwind at 4:30, making GIR out of the question and par being unlikely.

I'd say Oak 9 is up there, but St A's 17 pips it with that deadly back pin and crazy winds.

I am only a Master and have had some nice scores on St. Andrew's but my vote even at this level is St. Andrews # 17. I have lost more strokes on that hole then any that come to mind. I think it may just be in my head but depending on the wind etc its just a hole that gets to me and is the tougest hole for me. The other 2 you are talking about are long par 4's but I find them easy to par, harder to get a birdie on. That my 2 cents.

Sta 17 with crazy winds gets my vote also

I have to go with St Andrews 17 as the most difficult hole with the 9th at Oakmont a close second.  The only reason I put 17 ahead of 9 is that you can put the ball OB or into the deep rough on 17 and have no shot at par and even make double.  The 9th at Oakmont is an easy driving hole and you can always play into the front bunker and take your chance of getting up and down, which a good player is going to do 80% of the time.  I would say that my stroke average on 9, if I play it for par is 4.25 while my stroke average on 17 is probably 4.50.

The wind at St Andrews can also make this hole impossible if it is into you or blowing to the left.  It is easier to putt than the 9th at Oakmont but if you leave it short or above the hole it can be difficult.  If you miss the bunker at Oakmont and go 30 feet beyond the hole you can usually 3 putt for a bogey.

That's amazing Broahes because I don't think I've ever landed my 2nd shot on the green at BP15 yet which is one reason I seldom play BP.  I even use an extra club with Wind help on BP15 but it still always comes up short.  So apparently the 'secret' for BP15 is to hit 2 or even 3 clubs more just to hit the green?  But then don't ya also have to worry about over-shooting the green?  Plus, putting or chipping downhill from the back of BP15 would also be a nightmare to keep the ball from rolling way passed the hole or going off the green below the hole? :)  Which is why I seldom play BP because I think Every hole should have at least a 55-45 chance of just getting On the green.  But BP is virtually Zero chance for that and so what's the point in wasting all that time playing 18 holes when a Bogeyless Round is almost impossible for BP?

Excluding Legends because most have better Equipment and they can probably drive the ball to within 122-135 yards which enables them to easily land and stay on the green?  Then the only problem is dealing with the WICKED slope of that green by putting?  The best I can hope for is to Lob or Flop my 3rd shot to within 1 or 2 feet of the pin for par which is Also almost impossible.  Otherwise it's Guaranteed Bogeytime on BP15 for me. :)

Actually, I am usually hitting a medium to long iron into 15 but admittedly I am using a higher lofted club than you are.  I will also use back-spin to give it even more loft for this shot, so you have to go at least 1 club up possibly 2 depending on wind to fly past the hole and catch the back stop.  If I were you, I'd try going up 2 clubs, use full back spin and see what happens.  Figure 10-15 yards more than actual.  Think of it this way - your target is not the flag, it's halfway up the hill behind.  C
